is RA some type of arthritis?

@kivah

Yes, rheumatoid arthritis, the autoimmune kind.  I have it all over my body and it's in my organs now.  I have several autoimmune diseases and all cause pretty much the same symptoms.  Hair loss being one of them.

Annabellethecat where do you purchase your wig?  I like it.  Might consider getting one.  Thanks!

Google "Wilshire Wigs."  They are the best brands, including Raquel Welch.  Not too expensive, although one can buy real hair which costs over a thousand.

This wig is $125.  I have read if it's too shiny (as most are), spraying it with dry shampoo will take away some of the shine.  Also if it's too thick (I have a very small face), my daughter will trim it for me.

Very sassy, @LilacTree.  I’m interested in trying a wig but worry that it’ll itch?  Hope you like it when it arrives.

Tansy, I itch all over every day anyway.  As I said, I won't wear it just around the house, I'll just keep it in my usual ponytail (which I now have to wrap four times around, there is so little hair).  Hard on my hands.

I'm excited . . . but I've ordered wigs before and they were too heavy with hair, so back they went.  They were long though.  I figured if I got a short one, it would be easy for my daughter to trim.  She was an excellent hair stylist, specializing in cutting, all of her working life.  In fact, she used to trim and style wigs for her patrons all the time.

That's very nice @LilacTree. I know how it is to loose your hair. With my early signs of scleroderma I was bald for about a year and I wore wigs during that time. I hope you wear it in the best of health.Woman Happy

@SilleeMee

Are you saying you are no longer balding?  I have scleroderma also and didn't think there was a cure.  What did you take??

Lovely style,not too much hair on it to make itwiggy.

Love close to the head styles that show off bone structure.

Enjoy it!

@LilacTreeThe pony tail can be hard on the hair...all the pulling.  And why do something that is hard on your hands?  Also, the weight of your hair isn't helping.  Why not get what you have left cut to a shorter, more easily managed style...for when you're not wearing your wig?
