stop that! You are not "very old" now. We are the same age and we have to keep on keepin on. We both can.

They won't refund your money? Did you tell them, that you have health problems?

OTOH, @goldensrbest, would you want to buy a wig that was a return?
@Oznell, that was an informative post. I just watched some video on the Voltage one — it seems versatile. Do you wear all different lengths and colors or try to make a wig always seem like your own hair?

Sorry the wig was a disappointment, @LilacTree🙁
i know you are attached to your long hair but I bet you’d be striking in a wispy pixie cut.

@LilacTreeDo you know that wigs can be adjusted for size? When they are packed and shipped, they are on the smallest setting.
turn your wig inside out and look for tabs that are usually placed on the nape or just behind the ears. Pull up on the the strip tabs that are closed with Velcro and adjust them by moving them to a different spot. You can play around until you get the size you need.
the nurse at the school where I volunteer is a chemo patient. She was getting headaches from her new wig because she didn’t know it could be adjusted to a bigger size and she has been wearing wigs for years.
Oh,you might want to buy some Roux Fancifull and put some in a spray bottle. You can spray this on the wig to calm down the blue color. Sweet Cream would be nice, it’s a soft warm color that I think would look great on you. There are other colors as well, but do not use a white or it will just deposit more blue.
The Roux color will rinse right out and is not pernmanent so you can experiment.
I hope this helps.

@tansy, I don't really drastically change colors or styles now, and probably wouldn't unless I were travelling extensively and seeing different people all the time.
Over time, I've discovered what looks best on me, and so I stick to either short layered bobs, hopefully with some 'texture', or slightly shaggier wigs, and when I want a change, I subtly switch from one to another, tweaking them to look as similar to each other as possible, until I've completely switched to the new style.
For instance, I was wearing a slightly wavy "shag" for a few years, and then gradually switched to a tapered layered bob, in the same color family, and roughly the same length, so that it wouldn't be that noticeable a change. I don't necessarily want to have to tell people, other than closest freinds and family, that I wear wigs.
Of course, other wig wearers can usually spot a fellow wig wearer, unless the wig has a lace front and mono part, but most people just aren't that interested and closely examining what you are wearing.
As far as color, my own bio hair is extremely light brown, now greying, so blondes look good on me if they are "ashy" and cool toned. At some point I will switch to a blended platinum-ey shade, but now I wear mostly dark ash blondes that have very pale, sort of Swedish blonde highlights. They tend to "light up" my complexion.
On the other hand, anything that is too gold or "yellow" on me makes my skin look all ruddy and feverish-- a total no-no!

Thanks for the added detail, @Oznell. I have been enjoying some of your suggested videos. Raquel Welch’s Winner could maybe pass as my own hair — only better. It would be helpful to see the colors in person.
ETA: the Interpretive Option woman is my favorite so far and I’m seeing styles I may like more.

@Oznell wrote:I forgot to mention for both you and @Lindsays Grandma, that there are excellent videos of the wigs at the online outlets Wigs.com, and Cyster Wigs.com. In addition, here are some other wig-wearers who do wonderful, detailed video reviews of wigs online:
Katt Tracks
Taz's Wig Closet (I love her personality-- she is such a pleasure to listen to, and explains every aspect of the wigs so carefully. Also gives great styling tips.)
Interpretive Option
Fauxhair Fabulous
cindynok (Adorable "everywoman" from Oklahoma who gives very sincere, honest reviews of many of the most popular wigs.)
Really they are all darling and a great resource!
Thanks for the info...there is another you tube about wigs I love, it is Patti's Pearls, she is a delight to watch.

Oh, yes @Lindsays Grandma, thanks for mentioning her, I love Pattie too! I get such a kick out of her expressions, like when she says, "When you get your wig, you just shake the tar out of it"! She does terrific tutorials, including how to cut your wig bangs perfectly every time. Even for butter-fingers me, it's a fool proof method!

Unless you are older than my dad @LilacTree, you are not very old!
My dad is 90, going to be 91 in February.
Now that is very old.
