My mother said to always wear nice underwear in case of an accident. My late grandmother, who lived to be 101 years, told that "only trash goes barelegged." It took me some years to get over that one.

What infection are you talking about? I think you've got a better chance of getting "whatever" if your panty fabric is nylon or polyester. All cotton panties are supposed to be better, and moisture evaporates better. Not losing any sleep over this one.

Cotton underwear is cooler and more breathable for sure. Women with yeast infections and other types could probably benefit from wearing them....at least part of the time. I also don't like leggings for that reason. It is best to let the body breathe as much as you can. I gave up panty hose except for special occassions for the same reason years ago and haven't had any type of infections for 35 yrs.!
