That was my whole point.

I guess people missed where I said, "As long as you both got a laugh out of it. He did say that he got it for you, so that means that he was thinking of you, which is a good thing."

And a woman who would be offended by her man saying "I sent my wife to the store for bolts and she came back with rivets" needs to see a proctologist for stick removal. If we can't have fun with each other, especially in the cute day-to day occurrences, we might as well not be together.

I wish my DH could assist me with shopping, but he tires easily walking due to a muscular disease. I like lime jello, I'll take it!

Re: My husband went to Publix for vanilla pudding & came home with

I love my husband dearly. In fact, today is our anniversary & we just returned from a fabulous lunch. I wanted to make something special for dessert & it called for vanilla pudding. You all now know the rest of the story. For those who understood what I was saying & saw the same humor as I, I thank you. For those who think I insulted my husband, rest assured I did not. My husband is a wonderful person. He is extremely kind-hearted, caring, & very intelligent. He just has a tough time at the grocery store.

Please keep this topic positive if you want to reply. It was meant to be humorous but some read much more into the topic. I was not bashing my husband. Sometimes when topics are read, it is difficult to interpret the OP's intonation. Perhaps if I had added lots of Smiley Happy it would have made it more obvious to readers that I was not angry.

@Plaid Pants2 I knew as soon as I wrote that someone would take it the wrong way. I would never embarass my DH & he would never be offended by me keeping the Jello. We both just laughed it off. I keep telling him if he is going to get something that is not on the list make it a puppy! We have 3 rescues & I want a 4th.

Hi OhioSt8:  I so agree with you.  This is just a funny story and unless one has been married one will not get the humor.

As far as the widow remark made earlier by Plaid Pants we can certainly have empathy for widows as well as enjoy some humor about husbands/wives.

A laugh at vanilla pudding vs. lime jello (yuck) doesn't take away from anyone else.

I just get so sick and tired of posts where women talk about their husbands like the men are dumb, stupid, idiotic oafs, who don't have two brain cells to rub together to form a coherent thought.

It's like they don't appreciate their guys for the wonderful people that they are.

I mean, how would the women here like it if their husbands came on here and started talking about how their wives screwed up?

I'm sure that they wouldn't like it at all, but then again, maybe the wives are perfect, and never make mistakes.

So guys screw things up. It's called being human. No need to demean them for it.

Gee, overreact to what was intended to be a funny story much?

@Ohio St8

If you look at the responses, the majority recognized it for the lighthearted joke that it was intended to be and had a good laugh I did!) or similar story to share.

Other posters will make drama, where none is intended nor necessary, just ignore those.

Ohio salad? I'm from the great state of Ohio & I have never heard of this. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm keeping it on the shelf as a reminder to him that he screwed up the list again ............ & no, he did not buy the vanilla pudding, just the lime gelatin.

Why embarrass the poor man?

He tried, he was thinking of you when he got it. Doesn't that count for anything?

There are widows out there that would love to have their husband back, just so he could "screw up" the shopping list.

Comparing apples to oranges with the widow comparison.

How was he embarrassed by this being shared on an anonymous forum, which I doubt he reads anyway?

It's called having a sense of humor.

I either take a photo or look for a picture online, of what I need from the store, and text it to my husband.  It's just easier, lol.

I show pics to DH. LOL!!! He would be at the store looking forever if I did not do that.

I know!  My husband is a director for a large division where he works.  Oversees several hundred people and large budgets.  Maybe his brain is overloaded, lol.
