I have never figured out why some folks are so upset to find someone wearing a wig.

I like to change it up and frequently wear hairpieces - and yes, even wigs.  The funny thing is people usually don't know it's a wig (I mostly wear short ones and same color as my own hair) and they will complement me.  If I just say "Thanks" it's all good, but if I say it's a wig, they act like I have tried to perpetrate some sort of fraud on them or something.

They also ask how I got my hair to "do that" when I wear a hairpiece - and when I say it's a hairpiece - same upset reaction. I've even had someone tell me - but that's "cheating."

For those who object to finding out someone is wearing a wig - just what is the issue? (And don't tell me it's because they look "fake" because that's not my experience - as outlined above.")  And as to the "fake/looking bad" explanation - people don't get nearly as upset when someone wears an unflattering color or even clothes that don't fit well.

@Isobel Archer You nailed it, bravo! Very well said & so true. I can't get over someone actually telling you that is cheating, that blows me away!

The wig she has on is synthetic.  It's the Raquel Welch wig called Crowd Pleaser.  It has what is called a lace front which is an invisible piece of sturdy lace with what looks like hairs growing out of it.  Extremely natural looking.  Yes, she is lovely!  She has a lot of other wig review pictures on cysterwigs (of different wigs)  under "community" on that website.  Many other ladies post their pictures there, too.  I read them because it helps me to decide on which wig I might want to buy.

I do have one of the TB wigs and it is solid in color... silver. I think the reason why some wigs have different color roots is to make them look natural. Many people have different color roots, perhaps the coloring is not current or they just like the two tone look.

Are they hot to wear?  I'm stopping perms.  It hurts my neck (due to back) to lean into those hair washing tubs.  I can cut my own hair too.  I do my hair comb out, better than the gal that cuts my hair.  She cuts great though.  I can do for my own satisfaction though.

Maybe a wig is in my future! LOL

Yes, they are hot...especially in the summer (see post 27 and 28).  I know some women have said they wet their hair in the summer before putting a wig on if they are going to be in the sun.  Personally, I don't care to do that.  If you have hair everywhere else and just the top is thinning, there are hair pieces that can be clipped into just the top of your hair to cover wide parts and/or thinning crowns.  I am going to buy one for this summer.  Even they come in lace fronts and mono parts now.
