Before I got my acid reflux under control, I had to use Coffee Tamer in my coffee to cut the acid level. When you love your coffee, acid reflux can be such a heartbreaker.
The acidity in coffee is the reason our parents and aunts and uncles and grandparents used to drink Sanka. Remember Sanka? I used to think it was an old person's drink, but now I can finally understand the point of it.

@On It Try a Pepcid acid reducer pill first thing in the morning, or its generic. It seems to fix me up for the rest of the day. I get a bottle of them on Amazon.

Years ago I took Pepcid, and it was very effective. Then I graduated to prescription from my doctor. It worked for a while. Last fall the acid got so bad it burned my lips, kept my throat sore, and even went up the eustachian tube into my right ear. He then put me on a powerful drug that could only be taken a few weeks. I studied diets and ate very few things and got it back to the point I was not in constant discomfort. Currently I take Esomeprazole, a prescription generic. I have it mostly under control, but it seems it will be a constant threat, and I will never get to eat a lot of foods again.

I absolutely must have my coffee soon after waking up. I think about coffee the minute my eyes open but no amout of coffee wakes me up or keeps me awake. I'm just addicted or dependent on caffeine at 6:30am and pm. I can drink a big cup before bedtime and still sleep like a baby.

Have you ever tried Kava Instant Coffee? It has 95% of the acid removed and is very smooth in flavor. It's also the only instant coffee I've ever been able to drink. If your grocer doesn't have it, you can buy it on Amazon or Ebay.

I drink dark roast coffee, lots, and have no acid issue. Dark is less acid producing than light roast. Most would assume it's the other way.

I love coffee, but what wakes me up and keeps me awake even at night is caffeinated hot tea....☕

I love coffee but it doesn't wake me up so much as make me jittery. I'm good for 1, maybe 2 cups in the morning. I shouldn't have it all though because it's terrible for acid refux.
If you want to wake up - and stay awake for awhile - try Starbucks Nitro. OMG that about did me in.

I could never tell any effects at all from caffeine. I hear people talk about it, but it does nothing like that for me.
I don't drink coffee, but do drink espresso sometimes and make iced latte's with it but espresso (double shot), green tea, black tea, colas. . . nada. I must be immune to caffeine.
I have many times wished it woke me up. . . ![]()

I have found that store bought Starbucks coffee doesn't wake me up at all. I stopped buying it. I started drinking Single Origin Organic coffee and it is much easier on my stomach and wakes me up.
