We had a big windstorm yesterday and my WiFi is toast for now. Good thing my cell phone still works. I'm sure there are all kinds of technical explanations for why but I don't care...well, maybe a little. Till whoever's in charge of getting my WiFi working again, I wish they'd hurry up..
it's been about 18 hours.

My eyes caught this title of thread so quickly, I thought it said "My wife is dead!"  Scared me.

That is what I thought too.  And I wondered if he/she was glad due to the exclamation point!

You probably should call your internet/cable provider (if it's one and the same) and report it.  It may be a problem with your router or an issue related just to your service or you might have to reboot your router and sign back in if they have brought it back up.  You can get an update from them as to when it might be back up.

Have you tried unplugging your router, wait about 15 seconds or so and then plug it back in. Let it reboot itself which may take several minutes.

Routers should be unplugged often to clear out unnecessary data which accumulates inside it over time. That kind of data can make your router unsafe by providing a doorway into your network. Unplugging a router clears this data and  it will also update the router software.

ETA- 'Unplugged' means unplug the power cord from the electrical wall outlet. When it comes back, often times the router will perform better by providing you with a faster speed.
