Re: My Pruis V check engine light

@AmericanBulldogMom:  Not an option to find another Toyota dealer (I live 2 hrs from nearest).  I don't get my car serviced there; it has 150000 miles and Big O does 99% of my work but occasionally there is no other choice (major 50k, 100k etc).  I told GM I probably wouldn't buy another brand new car but that I have a 29 yr old son and soon would be in the market for a Toyota or Nissan for him.  Also I will be a proud 74 next week and (since I have amazingly good health--had my only child at 45) I probably will be driving another 10 years (DH is also my junior by 7 yrs).  Btw I think you are being unnecessarily rude to me, who you don't even know.

@patbz I went back and re-read my post. I didn’t read anything that was rude. You called yourself “elderly” (if thats what hit a nerve or something) so I only relayed what you said. I never said anything negative about being “elderly”.  Then I suggested to find a new service station, if not happy with how they handled things. Seemed like a reasonable suggestion. Good luck with finding a resolution then.

@patbz If you are an “elderly’ woman as you said in your post, then threatening to never buy another car from them probably didn’t phase him. I say this bc if you are “elderly” they figure the likelihood of you buying another car is slim to none. I would find a new place to take your car for service if you are not satisfied with how they handled things.

@AmericanBulldogMom We're in our 60s.  We trade in every 1-2 yrs.  My husband loves the wheeling and dealing involved in buying vehicles.

My son and I are trying to talk dh into trading our current truck for a diesel so I can get a gooseneck horse trailer with a small living quarters section.  Then I can camp over night now and then, and trail ride with a bunch of ladies I know.

I've hauled my current bumper pull to several different states, in city and rural settings, for clinics and to 2 equine hospitals.  You never know about us older retired folks!  😄

Good for you! I know plenty of active retired folks. In fact my father is in his 70’s and still trailers his horse to ride. Hope you get your diesel.
