FYI:  For a mail-related crime, you can contact the postal inspectors.  You can google their website or

Call 1-877-876-2455

@QVCkitty1 I wish I could say the same about our mail carrier. Ours continually delivers our mail to other peoples boxes, even had a lady deliver a couple packages last week who said they were delivered to her and she lived across town. Her address wasn't even close to ours. I have received other's mail as well and personally delivered it to the correct address. It's happened so many times I can't even count, like 50 times. I have complained to USPS to no avail. In fact, after about 3 or 4 complaints the supervisor said he couldn't understand it because our mail carrier never received complaints. Lo and behold, two weeks later my husband and I were watching the news and guess who the story was about? The segment was about a mail carrier (ours) who has received so many complaints they actually did a story on him. I know there are good one's out there but ours is seriously, the very worst.

You all gotta move to a small town! I lived in the big city all of my life, we have since retired to our lovely cottage on a lake in upper MI. Very small town. We get such good service from our USPS carriers and our UPS drivers . Small town living, it can't be beat! Heart

Maybe it's the times, but I'm always surprised by good service . My mail carrier is a lovely young woman who is as kind as she is efficient.  She took some mail for me this AM as I couldn't get to the post office. I know it's their job, but she is unfailingly pleasant and polite. When she waved goodbye, she thanked me for the food I left out Sat. ( the annual P.O. food drive ) Since she took over this route, the mail comes earlier and no more mistakes.  Some will say who cares, and that's fine, but she brightens my day. 🌺

This started WAY BEFORE the pandemic so they cant use that as an excuse....Same problem in our area ---- so many mistakes--other people's mail and packages---some of the addreses not even close to where I live, and I didnt get Easter cards that others sent that was in my "Informed Delivery Notice"....probably in someone else's mailbox! And they dont even go door to door its one of those Community Mail Boxes.....

And when several of us complained, all they said was well you can come down and talk to a Supervisor to register a complaint---why do I have to complain in person...its just a way to discourage people to file complaints because thats such an inconvenience ---especially where this post office is located---lots of traffic!

We used to have an EXCELLENT Mail Carrier but she quit to join the military and told us, "good luck, my co-workers are a bunch of idiots" (her exact words)......

I am very lucky to have the best mail carriers Smiley Happy  The one worries me as he should be retired.  I wish he could as he is of senior age.  One of the mailman was our neighbor in the smaller house.  Again I am grateful!

At times here it is really bad.  I've gotten meds for a man on our street but three blocks away.  Because it was obviously meds I took it too him and explained it was delivered to our house.  But I take all the misdelivered mail into the Post Office and tell them it was misdelivered.  One day I was asked why I can't just take it to my neighbors.  Two reasons. One - if I do that will the Post Office know there is an issue with the Postal Carrier.  Two - I don't work for the Post Office.

@QVCkitty1

Not too often I read positive comments about people "just doing their job". I have no idea what is in our Mail Carrier's Job Description being that it is a Drive Route. I rather doubt that getting out and carrying, and some of our mail, all the way through our fenced yard to our patio room porch, is a part of it.

I always find it refreshing to read positive things about people doing things for others, because they can, not because of any requirement. @QVCkitty1, was nice of your to start a positive thread about the much besmirched USPS, and their employees.
