....every time I see a "missing cat" poster hanging on a telephone pole or posted in our local post office. How do we educate people that cats should be kept indoors? Where we live, there are eagles, raccoons, and owls, all which will pick cats up. I could just cry. I warned a newish neighbor when she got two cats, but she let them outside anyway and the second one has now disappeared. I have a hunch that owls may be inhabiting our community more than in the past. A friend was jogging at dusk and her hat was bouncing on her head and an owl dive bombed her twice. All of my squirrels have disappeared. And I saw a mother raccoon with three kits, then two kits, then one, and I've not seen them since. Our pets are at our mercy and we must be responsible owners. I'm thinking about writing a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and reiterating that sentiment.
