My First Fast Food Pizza: A Review

Philadelphia-based Wawa convenience stores have tried selling fresh made pizza a few times over the years and have always failed.

This latest version was launched last spring to blah reviews. When I saw $5 off any pizza plus zero delivery fees announced a few weeks ago, the writing was on the wall.

With icy temperatures and roads, I decided to give it a try. I live less than a mile from a store.

---------------------------------------------------------

Ease of ordering on the Wawa app: Good.

Time from placing order to delivery: 20 minutes.

Promotional price: $15.66 for a 14" Supreme and a 2L Diet Pepsi, including tax. I gave the driver $4.

Pizza quality: Blah. Edible, no better. Fresh ingredients but tasteless, especially the dough.

Unique features: The pizza box is lined with a deep ribbed paper/plastic material which prevents slippage and leakage.

Summary: Nothing beats a locally owned pizza shop, but Wawa can deliver 24/7.

Good to know.  Thanks 4 the review. A Wawa opened about 2 miles from me.

Nearest Wawa is way over 1,000 miles away.  Guess I'll have to suffer without.

@PickyPicky3   I had no idea that Wawa delivered!  You learn something new every day!

Thanks for the review.  I haven't been tempted to try their pizza because I have a favorite pizza shop a few blocks away.  I do like many of their sandwiches, however.  And nothing beats their "gobbler" in the fall.  I wish they sold it all year!

There are 3 Wawas within a few miles of where I live. Although   nothing beats a locally owned pizza shop, I've had the Wawa pizza and was surprised that it's a lot better than I expected.  My husband and I like it. Definitely better than frozen from the supermarket.

Sounds no better than frozen pizza.  I have been purchasing fresh ready made but cook yourself pizza from Wegman's.

You have the option to buy it already assembled (they offer different toppings) or buy the individual ingredients and put it together yourself.

It's located at their pizza station and it's very good!  I have one in my freezer right now.

Sounds good but every pizza place near and not so near us delivers.

Re: My First Fast Food Pizza: A Review

I hope that you can find time to read some of the professional food critic reviews online. They certainly had fun writing about Wawa pizza.

Spoiler
Example: The Washington Post called it a "generic doormat with cheese on top."
