Re: My Bethlehem lights tree

I'm pretty sure Santa's Best is the only brand of tree on QVC that has the 5 year warranty.   The others are a year and many in the store are a year.  A friend of mine bought a BL tree and it lit the first year then only 1 tier lit the second year.  My BFF bought a tree from a locally owned greenhouse and the entire thing only lit 1 year.

I still have a regular tree that I have to string the lights on.  I had 2 pre-lits.  One was a good tree, the other a 6' slim from Walmart.  I actually really like the slim one and put it as a secondary tree in our living room.  The "good tree" I never could stand and gave that to my friend's daughter.

This year I bought a 6.5' pre-lit that is larger in diameter but still very manageable.  It was on clearance for $35.00.  I'm hoping I get about 3 years out of it.  LOL  It is up and looks beautiful.

Non pre-lit trees are very hard to find anymore.

@EastTNGal

You could purchase new bulbs and replace them all.  We constantly have to replace bulbs on our 10 year old Bethlehem Lights tree.  The past two holidays we must have replaced 60+ bulbs.  I love the tree but sadly it just can't survive another year as alot of the hinged branches are drooping.

Thats a tastefully decorated tree and nice fireplace - so many gifts you must have a huge family. Did you remove part of the mantle so you could mount a TV ? I would question that decision aren't you worried Heat from the fire could melt the plastic casing on the TV ?

I've sold those prelit trees for years.  Not saying that this is the culprit, but we see alot of light bulb/strand damage when the trees get stuffed back in the box, after the season.  Best to leave them up, and covered.

How many people have the extra space to leave them up?

@qvcfreak Wow!  I would have kicked that tree to the curb, literally!

@Sweetbay magnolia I totally agree.  We store our tree in sections in a canvas bag, but with the compressing a lot of wear and tear is done to the wiring and the hinges.  I am grateful our BL tree has lasted 10 years.  We are shopping for a new tree now and looking at some of the flip trees on wheels which we can store without dismantling.

My BL tree is going strong 15+ years.  We cover it with a tree bag and put it horizontally on a shelf in the garage for storage.
