I wrote about my dog Penny a week or so ago. We had been so relieved to learn she didn't have a neural tumor. On July 4, however, she became very ill so we rushed her to our veterinary hospital. Ultrasound and x-rays showed she has a tumor on her liver and her kidney. The cancer cannot be cured. We await word on her condition to see when it will be time to say good-bye. Our regular vet returns from vacation on Monday. Right now Pennny is comfortable at the hospital. My husband and I are heartbroken. Penny is almost 14 but no matter how much we know a dog's life is short, it is awful when their time comes. We cannot stop crying.
