Re: My Amazon USPS rant !

[ Edited ]

Update !!   My mail carrier came back yesterday to give me a update but I was not home. This morning I saw my neighbor on my ring leaving a package at my door.  I picked up the package and noticed it was from Amazon.  When I opened it, it was my order that was supposed to be delivered by the post office !  When my mail carrier came to deliver the mail I told her about the delivery. She was happy as I was that I received the package and told me she did a search at the post office and could not find it but she also complained to her supervisor about the problem. I thanked her for her help. I checked with my nextdoor neighbor who told me the package had been placed in her mailbox.  I think apparently what happened was that my regular mail carrier was off the day of delivery and the

substitute carrier put my package in the wrong apartment mailbox.  Still confused as to why it was then reported not delivered and I would need to pick it up at the post office!  I didn't report it not delivered I only got the email to pick it up and my neighbor just checked her mailbox today and discovered my package.

I never had your problem with Amazon but I have had other problems with USPS.  I know where my local post office is located and if I need to speak to them I don't call the generic USPS phone number online.  I will call my local USPS office directly.  The number should be posted online.

They will make you listen to the whole "welcome to USPS" message but you can finally get to speak to a human in the office.  My local office is a large & busy one so I have found that if I call when they first open I have a better chance of speaking to someone.

@haddon9    We have two Post offices in our Town.  The smaller one is wonderful.  But our mail goes through the main Post office.  They are AWFUL!   If there is a problem you cannot reach them by phone.   I have the direct phone number but they never answer the phones.   That means I have to get in my car and drive there.  Once I'm there I have to wait forever to be able to speak to a supervisor.  But nine times out of 10 they are useless.   Luckily our regular mail carrier is awesome.  So now, if I have a problem I go to him.  He has always come through for us.

@Boehm Collector Thank goodness you have a great mail carrier.  I like mine a lot too!

There have been times when my local post office will not answer the phone but if I time it just right and it's not during the holidays they have picked up the phone.

I must be lucky because I've never had a problem with Amazon or USPS deliveries.

Ive tried dealing with my local USPS Station after Ive had series of problems with deliveries....The Supervisor and others were no help at all!! ! Most of the time they don't even answer the phone! We did have one Postal Carrier that was very good, she quit to take a Military job, her parting words were very prophetic when she said. "Good luck folks, my coworkers are a bunch of idiots!"..... She was so right!!! Oh they discovered a group of mail carriers were investigated by the Police and found guilty of stealing packages and mail! That Manager at my Station was replaced, I dont know if she was in on the scam, or fired due to incompetence!

In all my years shopping on Amazon I have had maybe two problems and calling and speaking with CS has never been an issue.  Returns for me are easy because there is a Hub Locker very close by.  Refunds are almost immediate.   I haven't had any issues with USPS deliveries.   When you consider the multi millions of packages both handle each day I'd say they do a great job.   I do understand it can be disappointing when you;re anxiously awaiting something, but these things do happen.

I'm glad you've had a good experience. Unfortunately, I have not and it seems to me they are not focused on doing a good job, instead; reading their Facebook Page they seemed to be focused on short cuts to get off of work early (as numerous comments confirmed) Its not only about packages, I joke that I work for USPS part time as I redeliver all the mail put in my mailbox that belong to my neighbors!!! Woman Frustrated

YES, they are busy, but the busyness of USPS can't be used as an excuse for them doing a poor job....I bet lots of workers on this Forum that work in various occupations a poor performance in their job wouldn't be tolerated.

Here's an example: The supervisor at my post office told me the carriers are required to say the item was delivered even though it wasnt if it is loaded onto their truck.

@Spurt this is the same thing the supervisor at my local post office told me. By the way, my regular mail carrier is great. I have no problems when he is working.
