Just the other day there was a post about Amazon returns process and I posted that I have never had any problems with returns and that remains true. However !!   I'm a bit disappointed and wondering if anyone has had this happen.  I placed my order and received a email that it was shipped and being delivered by the post office. ( I have had orders from Amazon delivered by the post office before so no surprise) My order was "out for delivery"to be delivered by 7 pm last night (9/29) however it never came.

So I get a email from the post office today (9/30) (I'm enrolled in their "informed delivery" program that emails notification of what mail will be delivered that day)

telling me I need to go to the post office to get my package and there was no reason listed as to why my package was not delivered !!   I called the usps office number provided with my tracking number and they didn't know why it was not delivered and it was not the local office so they had no directions to the local office !!  I was able to stop the mail delivery person coming around to deliver the mail, gave her the tracking number and she's going to try to find my package.  Hopefully I will get it today 10/1 !!  What a nightmare !!! Anyone else ever have a Amazon/USPS issue like this before ? Sorry for the long post !

@Goodie2shoesOccasionally I get mis-information from USPS about packages scheduled for delivery.  Hopefully you'll receive it today/tomorrow (10/1).

It sure can get frustrating when dealing with online ordering. You just never know what will happen. I hope you package shows up.

I haven't had any issues either with buying from Amazon until just the past day or so. I've been shopping for years with them too.

Here's what I went through. I ordered a 14" round melamine platter, it cost me $34 and some change. It finally arrived and I opened the package just to see a set of 4 little saucers, like for a kid's tea party. I didn't order those, I wanted what I paid for so I got on my computer to see about getting this fixed.

On my comuter I was onlu given two options, return it for a refund or get a replacement sent out once I returned their mistake.

No no no no so I then looked for an actual phone number to call and speak to a representitive. Guess what, I never got to, I only got to do a chat with a robot. Over and over I typed I was not going to use my gas nor my time to return these dinky useless little kid dishes. It wasn't my mistake therefore I wasn't going to fix it. So after 20 minutes going by they finally relented and told me yes it was their problem and they would send me out the correct item at no cost to me.

Heck yes that's how it should be. So a few days later there was my 2nd package sitting on my front porch. I brought it inside and opened it.

Do you think my 14" round platter was inside the box?

Nope, they sent me out the same stupid kid's dishes.

Smiley Surprised Good grief...and I know these two sets of dishes combined don't cost $34.00, maybe $5.00 at most.

I'm not bothering with trying to get the platter at this point.

It always comes the next day. I swear they have to tell Amazon they delivered to avoid penalties, but sometimes it's not possible for them.

Frustrating, but I usually see it pop up the next day or right after I submit a lost package claim.

So sorry you now have the frustration. Heart

A package of mine was never delivered after repeated messages from them like sorry, we're late and don't worry it's on the way.  When their next message included a button to cancel that was it for me.

Calling c/s you get an automated voice telling you it can help you and finally takes you to a rep when you say you never got  your package. c/s is off shore but very nice and professional just takes awhile during the process.

After the refund was processed I was sent a text to return the item.  That's why I cancelled my prime membership and never went back. Never did receive my package.

I never had your problem with Amazon but I have had other problems with USPS.  I know where my local post office is located and if I need to speak to them I don't call the generic USPS phone number online.  I will call my local USPS office directly.  The number should be posted online.

They will make you listen to the whole "welcome to USPS" message but you can finally get to speak to a human in the office.  My local office is a large & busy one so I have found that if I call when they first open I have a better chance of speaking to someone.

I once called the post office to say my email says it was delivered. I said well it didn't come to MY house. He said the drivers sometimes say it was delivered but it's quitting time so they just put it off till the next day and they told me to wait. It did come the next day.

In all my years shopping on Amazon I have had maybe two problems and calling and speaking with CS has never been an issue.  Returns for me are easy because there is a Hub Locker very close by.  Refunds are almost immediate.   I haven't had any issues with USPS deliveries.   When you consider the multi millions of packages both handle each day I'd say they do a great job.   I do understand it can be disappointing when you;re anxiously awaiting something, but these things do happen.

I've not had issues with Amazon until they started using the post office for deliveries, not nearly every 2 or 2 day delivery is sending me a notice that delivery is delayed. It's not usually a problem but we are heading out of town so some things are needed, I finally blew my top and called Amazon to raise heck about it. A miracle happened and my items arrived on the day promised this week. I guess I now know where the fault lies.  Our local post office doesn't have a phone that answers, it's an answering machine and the service is not set up . . . our postal service here is beyond awful.

@Judaline this has been my experience with USPS many times (not Amazon packages). The supervisor at my post office told me the carriers are required to say the item was delivered even though it wasn't. If they are finished their shift, they will deliver it the next day, but they must put something in their computer re the package if it is loaded onto their truck.
