Re: Must haves to keep in your car.

When I lived back home in Ohio in the winter I kept a blanket, another winter coat, extra gloves and socks and toboggan.  I also had a flashlight and jumper cables.

How about an umbrella?

Re: Must haves to keep in your car.

@Warrior2022  For a birthday gift for my son-in-law maybe seven years ago I purchased a Stanley Portable Power Station here at the Q.  It was one of the gifts I gave him that I knew he really appreciated and used.

You charge it up, keep it in your car and if you are stranded you can recharge your own car battery without waiting for someone else to help.

It also can be used during storms to run a lamp or some other small appliance when electric is out.  I have one myself and used during Hurricanes Irene and Sandy when I lived in Connecticut.

I think I paid around $150.00 or a little less apiece because one was a special value.

Some type of trash bag.  You can find nice black leather-looking ones out there.

My licence, registration, and AAA card are in my wallet----which is always with me when I am driving.

My Insurance card is always in the compartment between the front seat with tissues, charger, small sewing kit, small first aid kit, small bottle of water.

Always have an umbrella.  In winter scraper and one of those car brooms.

A tire gauge and a tool to break the window and cut the seatbelt in case of emergency.

[ Edited ]

Small lambs wool duster.....at red lights, stopped traffic points, I just pull it out to dust the the dash.  It gets in the crevices and around the buttons without changing the settings and it is quick !

Bottles of water to be rotated out periodically.

Crackers and protein bars.

Spare charger for devices.

3-way large flashlight and package of batteries.

Maps....in case no signal for GPS

Gloves...winter weight, work, latex, etc.

Socks...wool

Large trash bags....good when stuck in deep snow for traction

Something to read when stuck in traffic...the turnpike was closed for many hours during a recent snowstorm

Paper and pens

Items mentioned from other posters

@sidsmom.  Well, I’m in the northeast and I carry a snow scraper in the winter. That’s a must have and about it.

Re: Must haves to keep in your car.

I have a large supply of "things":

AAA membership

Stanley Fat Max

blanket

scrapers

rubber tire trex (to put under the wheel if I get stuck(

set of sweats, gloves, socks

flashlighs

tote bag filled with dog emergency supplies

I had an old car and a baby and dogs so I've added to my "stash" over the years. It also comes in handy in the winter if I see someone in need out in the cold. I just replenish what I've given away.
