"Come Together" by The Youngbloods. I liked the lyrics then, and they still have meaning for me today.

My parents bought me the "Meet the Beatles" album when I was nine. I was obsessed. A few years later when I was allowed to take the bus and go downtown with my friends I bought my first 45. It it was Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, I Second that Emotion. I still love that song.

First 45: "Heartbreak Hotel" -- Elvis Presley
First Album: I think it was "Bergen Sings Morgan" I first heard the music of Helen Morgan on Playhouse 90's "The Helen Morgan Story." How impressed I was! Polly Bergen starred as Helen Morgan in the TV production of Morgan's story.

Sandy Nelson made an album called Let There Be Drums. He had a big hit , I think it was balled Teen Beat. I loved Drums at the time and Topsy by Cozy Cole was one of my favorite drum singles. As far as remembering my first 45 or album, that's a difficult one because I did buy records often starting in the fifties. I still have my 45's and albums. I also have 78's which my mother used to buy.
