Re: Music in Stores, Pro or Con?

I don't mind if there is music or not.

Heck, if it's a song that I like, I have been known to start singing and dancing to it! *lol*

One store that I remember in particular was Abercrombie and Fitch. My daughter used to shop in there occasionally when she was in high school. We went in there one time and the music was so loud and the store was so dark and smelled like they had fumigated it with cologne that I had to leave. I am not exaggerating when I say I felt like I was in a club. The music was so loud you could feel it and it was techno too. Ugh.

 Ugh, Hollister too!!

I am so glad that phase passed!!

i really hate the holiday muzak, its the same tunes everywhere!!!  they played over and over when i worked in retail over 20 years ago.  the home office shipped the tapes every week. we were not allowed to being in our own tapes. i think they contained subliminal messages

the worst one is Simply- Having- A -Wonderful- Christmas- Time

I love music....anywhere!

I've used Shazam in the grocery store when I hear a righteous tune..!

In the gym, my trainer & I play 'Name That Tune' between sets.   Lots of air guitars & fancy dance moves for the 80-90's tracks!

Re: Music in Stores, Pro or Con?

If I hear Mariah Carey belting out "all I want for Christmas is you" I'm going to hang myself with the xmas tree lights. that's the only sound track Walmart has is MC and other loud mouth screechers.

I can go Johnny Mathias, Burl Ives, but, these loud mouth screamers makes me want to put down my groceries and head for the car. Then you got the screaming babies, kids running around unattended and mothers just glad to be rid of them for a few minutes and I'm ready to say to H e * * with it and go home.

Don't forget 'Santa Baby'  1scream.gif

I'm much more annoyed by the running, screaming, out of control children in stores than I am by the overhead music.

Yes!  A&F was the store I walked into and walked out of because of the music.  And now I remember it being dark and stinky!  LOL
