I was in Aldi the other day and realized there was no music playing. I didn't miss it. While I enjoy music, play it in the car, I don't enjoy all music. I would much prefer silence to Abba, Springsteen... I leave the store if they're playing Country.
So, music in stores, like it or is silence golden?

makes me no difference,I am not in any store long enough for it to annoy me

I prefer no music.

More often than not it's annoying to me in many of the stores. One day last week I was in a store and the music was horrible. I jokingly said something to the cashier about it and he said "what? This song is awesome." Of course I was old enough to be his mom. LOL The lady behind me had the same feeling about the music I did.
Last year I distinctly remember walking into a store at the mall around the holidays and the music was so obnoxious, I turned around and walked back out.

I have sensory issues so I'm perfectly fine with no music.
Once, years ago, I was in a store that was playing country western music. If that weren't enough of an assault to my senses, it was blaring. I was interested in some stuff and, as I looked around, I noticed that nobody else was in there. So I requested of somebody working there - if you would turn OFF the country western music I'd stay and spend money. Otherwise, I'd have to leave. Of course, I asked nicely.
They did and I did. It was a win-win.
If a store/bank/etc has music blaring I have a hard time because I have such loud ringing in my ears 24/7 that I just cannot handle a lot more sound, especially LOUD sound. But if it's country western music or christmas music I'll probably just duck out.

I enjoy it as long as it isn't too loud but, unfortunately, most of the time they have it blaring. I especially enjoy it around the holidays.

CON
Ugh
Was in Walgreen's and they were blasting hip-hop music.
The staff clearly enjoyed it (and likely selected it) but it
was totally annoying.

I like music in stores, but I've noticed that music in restaurants is sometimes peculiar. Too often the choice of music is the wrong choice for the establishment.

HATE IT !!!
Most of the time it's not the music selection .... it's the darn VOLUME.
I have no qualms about telling a clerk I want to talk to the Manager on duty, and complaining about the volume. HOW are we supposed to shop (which requires thinking) when we're being assaulted by that noise???

I prefer no music, though if they do play it I prefer it very low volume. I, too, have walked out of stores that are playing loud music basically aimed at the tastes of young people.
