Re: Mr. Rogers is Getting His Own Stamp

@Laura14, your comment sticks with me-- so profound.  So glad that kids who watched had that kind of soothing presence-- such a gift that he had.

Very nice honor. Brought pleasant TV to children. Today the Daniel Tiger series entertains and teaches my young granddaughters.

Oh, I had forgotten her, @Spurt!  I like her much better than King Friday, who seemed to take his "kingship" a little too seriously....

I agree that this is great news @Oznell.  I've just finished my huge stock of Jimi Hendrix stamps and will restock with Fred Rogers. Smiley Happy

His speech at the Emmy awards was so touching, requesting a moment of silence to remember someone who has helped you in your life.

The speech is on YouTube.

Talk about a man who walked the walk. Not a false or lying bone in that mans body.  Imo

He was the nicest person. My children just loved him. He had such a soothing voice. My kids never moved when he was on. So glad there is going to be a stamp in his honor.

He was my era. Sesame Street, Zoom, Electric Company. No cable, black and white tv.

I always felt a sense of relief when he fed the fish. Like maybe they would starve on the set. Haha
