I read that interview piece very differently. I didn't see anything creepy or odd.

He meant that he didn't want the series' *characters* (Cliff and Claire) to have more children on the show, so the show had to hide her real-life pregnancy.

That happens all the time. "Everybody Loves Raymond" had to hide Patricia Heaton's many pregnancies during the show. "King of Queens" had to hide Leah Remini's pregnancy.

And, because they have to do special camera angles and all sorts of other hiding techniques, it does restrict the physical interaction between the pregnant actor and other actors on the show.

I'm not defending Cosby in general, but this "gotcha" interview quote was blown way out of proportion, IMO.

And did you see the look on the reporters face? He looked like he was going to be sick.

So sad, so pathetic. No wonder none of the cast has come forward in support of him. Of course Raven did, but she was quashing a rumor.

Otherwise, she and her colleagues have been silent. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

I haven't defended him.............but I will always defend truth.......and that has yet remained allusive in this case...........when the truth is complete and all facts are known.........yeah, I'll have plenty to say LOL..........................................raven

I thought she was referring to Raven Simone. (?)

somehow I doubt Ray Romano was dismayed by the fact that he couldn't touch and play with Patricia Heaton when she was pregnant.

I didn't read the "couldn't touch and play" as a perverted se x ual reference. I think too many are reading that into everything he says now.

I read it to mean that as the *character* of Cliff that he couldn't do the usual physical touching and playing that was part of their normal acting on the show.

Touch and play is a very odd statement to make, no getting around it.

Exactly! That is what he was saying. He could no longer play with her & touch her....Gives me the creeps And, blames her real life husband....sick puppy indeed!

He's a pervert. Got off on touching someone else's wife.

Can you imagine if he was a leading man getting roles with love scenes?

He's a pig rapist and a s-x addict.

Has Phylicia Rashad herself, or any other cast members said anything about his behavior or relationship with them during the time of the show? That would be interesting. I agree with Lion. Although the way it was put was weird, I think the remarks were about the interaction of the two characters on the show.
