Re: Movies We Love and Can Watch Over, and Over and Over Again!

In no particular order:
High Society or Philadelphia Story (Like both versions, cannot choose between them. Watched High Society today.)
Grand Hotel
Stella Dallas

This list could change at any given moment as I am a great fan of old, classic movies.  TCM is my favorite channel on T.V.

I love the last scene of Dirty Dancing.  I could watch it over and over and never get bored of it.

@Its Me LuLuBelle2

Love all those you mentioned, but Dinner at Eight is an absolute gem.  Jean H. is perfection.  What a gal!  Marie Dressler as Carlotta Vance -- just delicious.

Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen and Faye D.

Mildred Pierce

Butterfield 8

The Long Hot Summer with Paul Newman

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Picnic with William Holden and Kim Novack

Sunset Boulevard....the scene where she gifts him with a cigarette case with a note saying "Mad About the Boy."

And lots of guilty pleasure movies including Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor....

Re: Movies We Love and Can Watch Over, and Over and Over Again!

"The Magnificant Ambersons"   Orson Welles' "other" flawed masterpiece, following the fortunes of a once-proud declining family

"Shadow of a Doubt"   Hitchcock dissection of evil menacing a clever young woman in small town America.

"The File on Thelma Jordon"   Barbara Stanwyck ambiguously drawn into a smoldering love affair

"The Big Heat"   Glenn Ford is an honest policeman up against city-wide corruption and murder

"The Thin Man"   Sparkling dialogue and hijinks with the inimitable, quintessential movie couple, William Powell and Myrna Loy

"The Best Years of Our Lives"   Touching, unvarnished depiction of servicemen and their families re-adjusting after World War II

"His Girl Friday"   Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell have never been better as fast-talking, bantering and bickering newspaper editor and reporter hot on a story, and a romance of their own.
