Of course I do.  I'm sure she's just a little person in a fur coat.  LOL.  I treat her like the little person that she is.

Yes, I talk to Toby all the time.  He may not understand me, but he looks at me as if he does.  He definitely understands certain words.  For example, when I feed him some bites of my food from the dinner table and when we are done, I hold up both my hands and say "pau" (done in Hawaiian).  He goes over to his water bowl to get a drink then goes to the living room to watch TV.

I talk to my little morkie, "Allie" all the time.  I tell her where I'm going; that her grandma wanted me to tell her that she loves her  over the phone; that she's the best little girl in the world; that the blowing leaves all around her ankles are safe and not out to get her. etc.  

 

You should hear our conversations when I'm 5 minutes late with her dinner!
