Perhaps the misunderstanding between Sylvia and Kalypso will be a catalyst for more understanding here of others' struggles (both from this board and in our "real" lives).

That's a really nice thought!

I repeat...

The OP took a post "COMPLETLEY" out of context from another thread.

Softraindrop asked a question and I responded. There was no hostility between us. She posed a question and I answered. It was a friendly and courteous exchange. Pretty simple..,don't ya think?! But now the OP took a simple Q&A and turned it into something that it wasn't!

Dear OP,

At what point in that statement was I righteous? All I did was state my elation at never having to be at an AA meeting. It's the same elation I'd suspect many people who go to AA that have been sober for their first few months to many years would feel for resisting their addiction

The OP pulled my post into this junk. I don't believe I've even posted to this OP until today. UNBELIVABLE! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I understand what you've said, but Kitty's point is still valid, even if Sylvia completely misunderstood you.

I took Kitty's comment as a generic suggestion for all, not as something pointed toward you.

((( Sylvia)))

Why would people stop posting with you?

CONGRATULATIONS and I am SURE there are many posters here who can relate in some sense....

ETA- Not sure what happened but Kalypso has ALWAYS been a fair voice of reason so I am assuming it was just a misunderstanding...

Guess what? The wonderful Colorado blue sky is back. It's freezing cold. ...and the Colorado sun is shining, the snow will melt some.

Some things we learn in AA: To keep our own side of the street clean, and alcoholics are never "cured" we have a daily reprieve, I can't ever see me taking another drink: I can have my old misery back any time I choose.

I want to add, that whomever I quoted above, I hope you don't ever have to darken the doors of AA, either as a member yourself or accom[anying your children or a dear friend. I had never even heard of AA when I had to go there. And I heard I was a drunk, no different than the woman begging for matches and money at my car door one evening. WHO? ME? I'm the rich fun girl--the same? And they were absolutely right!

Now I'm privileged to have women trust me and give back what was so freely given to me.

I am confused here. I must have missed something that was deleted. ???
