Re: Most Over Used Words Here and on Facebook

I've posted this before...but the word I think is most overused everywhere is "super". Super cute, Super clean, Super easy, super good...aaaahhhhhggggg! Sounds "teenager-ish" to me, but people of all ages (mostly women, I've noticed) use it all the time. It's used in commercials, in recipes, just everywhere!

I even heard someone say "super amazing!" the other day!

@dooBdoo I don't think anyone thinks you're trying to be smug if/when you might say HTH.  You always do try to help. Smiley Happy  In fact HTH never really struck me that way at all.

"Have a nice day", though, does seem to me to mean "I'm done with you. Get lost." when used by some.  Some who think everyone else is too dumb to know it lol.  (Oh, and I use LOL and smiley faces too much.)

I had no idea that "Have a nice day" could be mean.   I often end my phone conversations with "Thank you for calling and have a nice day!"   Now I'm wondering how many people think I'm being smarmy towards them with that statement at the end of the call.  Time to break this habit.  I would never want anyone calling into my office to think I was being mean.

My feeling is when someone ends their post with "have a nice day," they no longer want to participate with that person - they're being dismissive.

"Have a nice day" in real life means "have a nice day". LOL

@straykatz I meant here and other social media when someone ends a disagreement that way.  Not when someone says it IRL.

Re: Most Over Used Words Here and on Facebook

There are lots of overused words here, many already mentioned I agree with.

One I've noticed is the word "prude." Once several years back I noticed it being used a lot on these boards so out of curiosity I did a Search. Wow, did a lot pop up. Many, many examples of people saying "I'm no prude, but..." It was kind of funny.
