Well, I am able to "pill" her. Problem is, now she's vomiting. Gave her the last pill 3 nights ago due to it. Last night, still vomited. No eating or drinking today. Called and took her to the vet.
They did her lab work again, and all the general stuff (glucose, kidney, liver) is still all right. Vet thinks it is the underlying hyperthyroidism or the medication for it. They gave her subq fluids as they felt she was dehydrated. She has lost a pound since we were there last.
Vet says it is rare not to tolerate the med, and the dose was very small. They gave her a shot for the vomiting, and we are to give her famotidine (Pepcid) for a couple days. If she doesn't vomit, we are to start the thyroid med again at 1/2 pill per day to start. She was getting 1 pill twice a day before. If she cannot tolerate any med, the option of surgery or radioactive iodine is out there if we wanted. All sounds really expensive!
My poor baby!
