Re: More Olympics 2024 Sportsmanship (and other nice stories!)

Runners Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr had nothing good to say about each other in a video clip shown the other day prior to both losing to USA Gold Medalist Cole Hocker in the mens' 1500m. That put an end to that! Woman LOL

I watched this race yesterday. I was so excited when he won. Before the race, the commentators never mentioned him as a contender for gold.

He seems gracious and humble, not like the other two with their huge egos.

I was yelling and applauding wildly!

With their intense competition and animosity,  the Brit and the Norwegian forgot there were others in the race.   Like Americans!  Go TEAM USA!

“the Goose” did well too. I agree that the two favored from Norway & GB were so enmeshed in their rivalry & who was better that they only watched each other. Hocker also ran a very intelligent race; he saw that small lane & window of opportunity & whizzed right by the favorite much to his surprise. I love endings like that.

This was absolutely amazing. I've watched it several times. Just came out of nowhere to bring it home.

Well, another olympian making the impossible possible! He really surprised them from behind and I'm sure they were not even aware of him and couldn't do anything about it at that point. What a race!

In the middle of a Women's Handball match, the Brazilian goalkeeper carries an Angolan player, the team captain,  off the court after she had just suffered a devastating knee injury.

"There was no way I wouldn't help her."

"Thank you very much, my friend. Only you could lift me up. I was very hurt"

French runner Alice Finot has just finished the Steeplechase,  placing fourth (but breaking the European record).  Using an Olympic pin, she proposes to her boyfriend who is in the stands.

He said yes!
