There was one with giant ants that I remember seeing and I had a very high fever (had to be put in a cool bath every couple of hours). I was too sick to get out of bed and turn the darn channel and it was freaking me out!!

The Wizard of Oz freaked me out!

There was the Asian ones where a giant reptiles and bugs would emerge out of the ocean and stomp through cities and the voice-overs alone were a night mare!

Perhaps you are thinking of Godzilla and Mothra? I used to like watching those movies. There have been so many different remakes of those movies. The same with King Kong. That one has been done over again, too.

We watch Svengoolie....he also has a FB page.
I like the Fly, when it gets trapped in the spider web and screams, "Help me, help me!!!!" LOL
Mothra - did you see the Mothra movie with the 2 tiny Asian twins? They are so cute, they start singing and it summons Mothra.

We watched "The Monolith Monsters" the other Saturday on Svengoolie; it was about people TURNING TO STONE........

One I like is, "Teenagers from Outer Space," OMG!

Also, "Plan 9 From Outer Space".......{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

The Thing was my favorite scary movie when I was young. Yes, I vaguely remember being young.

The one that scared me the most was Salems Lot. I was about 16 years old and I watched it at a friends house. I had to walk home by myself after and it was dark and the movie was about vampires! Needless to say I RAN! I still remember it was so scarey.

Yes, there was a movie called The Crawling Eye.

A scary movie I saw was with Christopher Lee called The City of the Dead or its US title Horror Hotel. The final scene shows a witch sitting in a chair and the chair turns around and shows her burned face.

I think the scariest movie I ever did see was Alien in the theater. When I saw it on TV years later it wasn't so scary.

Re: Monster Movies When You Were Little

In the 7th grade, our school had the noon movie during lunch hour, and for a dime we got to see scary movies in the auditorium . The one that I remember most was the "day the earth stood still"
