God's blessings come in packages both large and small. Sometimes

they are expected and sometimes not. Sometimes they are recognized

and sometimes not. Lord, thank you for the joy You light in me, even

in times of sorrow. Please use me to bless someone else.

Scripture for the day:

"But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and

tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you--you of

little faith! And do not keep striving for what you are to eat and what you

are to drink, and do not keep worrying. For it is the nations of the world

that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need

them. Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to

you as well." ~Luke 12:28-31

Meditation for the day:

When we seek to follow the way of the spirit, it frequently means a complete

reversal of the way of the world which we had previously followed. But it

can be a reversal that leads to happiness and peace.

Do the aims and ambitions that a person usually strives for bring peace?

Do the world's awards bring heart-rest and happiness? Or do they turn to

ashes in the mouth?

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not be weary, disillusioned or disappointed. I pray that

I may not put my trust in the ways of the world, but in the way of the

spirit.

Hello my friends! The top paragraph speaks a lot, doesn't it? Let us ask God to use us to bless others. Today's blessings were starting out with Mass - ending with a Church meeting, a course we're taking on "Consoling the Heart of Jesus". In between, had Lori over for lunch and lots of visiting and a game of Farkel. Numerous more blessings include great husband, our daughters, sisters and my many friends which I praise and thank our God for! Also that Sammy seems to be better!! Praying for you all - thanks for your prayers for us. Heard from Carolina:

Having some computer problems with Windows 8, she is very busy, and is on the computer a lot at work - when home she's not on it much. I'm supposed to give her regards to our regulars here. We miss her! Hope she can come back!

To the world, you may just be somebody...but to somebody, you may be

Practice What You Preach

You can know all the scriptures,

Have all the bibles you can reach,

But when push comes to shove

Do you practice what you preach?

Anyone can go to church

And collapse on the floor,

But when Judgment Day comes

Will you be at Heaven's door?

You can have the biggest of fits

And say the Holy ghost passed through,

But is that really reflected

In the things you do?

You can yell far and wide

Proclaiming your love for Christ,

But what have you given him

When for you He gave his life?

You can lecture others

About the wrong things they do,

But before you look at others

You need to look at you.

You can dam n all the sinners

Tell them they're headed south,

But what have you done lately

Besides run your mouth?

You can call yourself a Christian

Spend all your days at church,

But while you are praising His name,

Have you been doing the Lord's work?

You can boast of good deeds

To show us the spirit is within

But why show it to us?

You should show it to Him!

You can memorize the bible

Know it from front to back,

But you don't use it to regulate others

Regulate how you act!

Take a good look at yourself

Not at what others do,

Because when He comes to get his children...

To Whom It May Concern:

I heard you were considering a new manager in your

life. I would like to apply for the job. I believe I am the most

qualified candidate. I am the only one that has even done

this job successfully.

I was the first manager of human beings. In fact I

made them, so naturally I know how humanity

works, and what is best to get people back into proper

working condition. It will be like having the

manufacturer as your personal mechanic.

If this is your first time considering me, I would

just like to point out hat my salary has already been

paid by the blood of my son, Jesus on

the cross of Calvary. What I need from you is the

acknowledgment that the price is sufficient to pay

for all of your sin and your independence from Me.

I need you to believe this in your heart and to

tell somebody else about your decision with your

mouth.

The next thing I ask is the right to change and fix

your life so you can learn how to stay close to Me.

I will make some major changes and pevisions.

They are not for you to worry about. I need your

permission to execute these changes, My way and in My time.

I will change your desires and give you the strength to make the

changes.

Please keep your hands out of the way. Don't try to

help me and Don't resist me. I really do need your full

commitment and cooperation. If you give me those,

the process can go smoothly, without delays.

A GLASS OF MILK

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way

through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his

nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked

for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large

glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to

accept pay for a kindness." He said... "Then I thank you from my heart." As

Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his

faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Year's later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were

baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in

specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for

the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a

strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of

the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see

her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room

determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special

attention to the case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly

requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He

looked at it, and then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to

her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of

her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her

attention on the side of the bill. She read these words... "Paid in full

with one glass of milk" Signed: Dr. Howard Kelly. Tears of joy flooded her

eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread

abroad through human hearts and hands.”

O Lord Jesus, gentle and humble of heart, full of compassion and maker of peace, you lived in poverty and suffered persecution for the cause of justice. You chose the Cross as the path to glory to show us the way of salvation. May we receive the word of the Gospel joyfully and live by your example as heirs and citizens of your kingdom. Amen.
