No gift is so precious as love. Gratefully trust God and give Him your love.
Lord, I give You my heart.
Scripture for the day:
"Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus
Christ, the Father's Son, in truth and love." ~2 John 1:3
Meditation for the day:
God is with us, to bless and help us. God's spirit is all around us.
We need not waver in our faith or in our prayers. All power is God's.
We can say that to ourselves often and steadily. We can say it until our
hearts sing with joy for the safety and personal power that it can mean to
us. We can say it until the very force of the utterance drives back and puts
to nothing all the evils around us. We can use it as a battle cry. All
power is the Lord's. Then we can pass on to victory over all our sins and
temptations, and we can begin to live a victorious life.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that with strength from God I may lead an abundant life. I pray that
I may lead a life of victory.
Hello my friends! Another wonderful night with my parish family on the
Marian Retreat - Good discussions and good video - and what a wonderful
priest we have!! We are so fortunate!!
Today was just a relaxing day for me - he had to work, but he got off
early - home at 4 and so we had time to have supper, and just relax before
our class at 6. The next two Sundays he has off! Just got a call from Lori
saying she got a text from Darla saying they aren't going on their cruise -
which was supposed to be today - that they are stuck in Houston, and leaving
to go home tomorrow - I wonder what that's all about. Lori wondered if we
heard from her, no we haven't. Lori tried to call her but didn't get her,
so she'll let me know when she hears anything. I pray they are alright.
Praying for all of your for your needs, and thanks for your prayers for us.

TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED

Sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away that they were meant to be there,
they serve some sort of purpose,
teach you a lesson
or help figure out who you are
and who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be:
your neighbor, child, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete
stranger
who, when you lock eyes with them,
you know at that very moment that they will affect your life
in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you
and at the time they seem painful and unfair,
but in reflection you realize
that without overcoming those obstacles
you would have never realized
your potential strength, will power, or heart.
Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance
or by means of good or bad luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity
all occur to test the limits of your soul.
Without these small tests,
whether they be events, illnesses or relationships,
life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere,
safe and comfortable,
but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who affect your life
and the successes and downfalls you experience
create who you are,
and even the bad experiences can be learned from,
In fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart,
forgive them,
for they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious to
whom you open your heart...
If someone loves you,
love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you,
but because they are teaching you to love
and opening your heart and eyes to things
you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count.
Appreciate every moment
and take from it everything that you possibly can,
for you may never be able to experience it again...
Talk to people you have never talked to before,
and actually listen,
let yourself fall in love,
break free and set your sights high...
Hold your head up because you have every right too.
Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself...
for if you don't believe in yourself,
no one else will believe in you either.
Create your own life
and then go out and live in it!
"Live Each Day As If It Were Your Last...
Tomorrow is Not Promised"
God's Hand
Sometimes...
We must be hurt in order to grow;
We must fail in order to know,
We must lose in order to gain.
Some lessons are learned best
Only through pain.
Sometimes...
Our vision clears
Only after our eyes are
Washed with tears.
Sometimes...
We have to be broken,
So we can be tender,
Sick so we can rest and think better;
On things more important
Than work or fun;
Trip near death,
So we can assess how we've run.
Sometimes...
We have to suffer lack,
So we can know God's provision,
Feel another's pain,
So we can have a sense of mission.
So take heart, my friend,
If you don't understand today,
Instead of grumbling,
Ask God what He means to say,
In order to learn you must endure,
And learn to see the bigger picture.
In order to grow, you must stand;
Look beyond the hurt
To God's loving hand
That takes what is good,
And gives what is best,
And on this blessed thought, rest:
As your anxious heart,
With questions, waits,
God's hand only gives
What His loving heart dictates.
Sometimes the Lord calms the storm;
Sometimes He lets the storm rage...
And calms His child.
Better the storm with Christ...
Than smooth waters without Him.
Pass this encouragement on...

Dialogue with Christ: Lord Jesus, you are my king and your kingdom is truth.
Form my mind to know all things in relation to you. Form my heart to judge
all people in relation to your love. Free me from the deceptions of pride,
human respect and self-love. May only your love reign in my heart!
Resolution:This week I will reject all internal judgments of others that are
based on hearsay. I will replace them with prayers for those persons, giving
them the benefit of the doubt and entrusting them to the care of the King.
'So you are a King then?' Pilate asked. Jesus replied. "It is you who say
it."
The Self-Giving Love of Jesus, the King of Kings
The preaching of Jesus made a deep impression on the people because he
taught them with authority (Mt 7:29). That authority was the force of his
love which made him 'gentle and humble in heart' (Mt 11:29) and which, more
than the nails, kept him on the cross. Today, we celebrate what has already
happened but which has still to trickle down into every corner of reality:
the risen and glorious Lord Jesus holds authority over all creation. The
ultimate authority is the self-giving love of Jesus.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to accept your rule in every corner of my life. May I
have in me the same values and outlook as are in you.
Let me imitate you in my conduct and love my neighbor as you love them. Make
me sensitive to the sorrowful and unfortunate and generous in helping others
where possible.
Banish from my life every allegiance which is contrary to your gentle rule.
Amen
