Regret nothing, not even your failures. Take in the richness of only today
because to carry any more will only weigh you down. Lord, You have
promised to help me with the burdens of today. I will not look backwards.

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
~Matthew 6:10

"Your will be done" can be our often repeated prayer. And in the
willing of God's will there can be gladness. We can delight to do God's
will because when we do, all our life can go better and everything will
tend to work well for us in the long run. When we are honestly trying
to do God's will and humbly accepting the results, nothing can seriously
hurt us. Those of us who accept the will of God in our lives may not
inherit the earth, but we can inherit real peace of mind.

I pray that I may have a yielded will. I pray that my will may be
attuned to the will of God.

Hello my friends! Well the weekend's over and I'm home again! It was a
great turn-out for the reunion, but of course, our Joe was greatly missed!!
We had a little tribute to him. My sister, Erma, had one of her friends
come and play accordion for us - all kinds of music - for awhile, it was
great!! Never ending foods! I brought corn on cob. In staying overnight
we got to visit longer, and that was fun - never were we the last to leave
before! My sister, Sister LaDonna stayed over with me and Lori brought us
home today - Sister LaDonna will stay here until Wednesday night when Lori
will take her to my sister, Deil's. My blessings are my family that God
gave me, sisters, nephews and nieces, and cousins that were there too to
visit. While still in Mpls. got two invitations to go to friend's houses -
we had to decline one, and took up going our dear friend's, Ray and Ann for
supper with Sister LaDonna, had a good meal there and lots of good
conversation! Linus got along well with the dogs. He did have to separate
them so kept Ollie at Lori's and after work, went there to let him out, play
a bit before work, and he had them both here for overnight and Ollie slept
with him, he just felt it best that Ollie and Sam were separated. Ollie was
fine when Lori got home, too. Praying for all of your intentions and
thanks for your prayers for us. God bless you!

Straight Ahead

At sometime during World War II, a passenger ship set sail from Great
Britain headed for port in New York City. The Captain of the ship being
afraid of enemy vessels, sought the advise and guidance of the British
Admiral.

The Admiral calmly assured the captain that no matter what happens, he
should be sure to sail his ship straight ahead. "Do not take any detours --
sail the ship straight ahead -- continue on-ward, heading straight towards
the intended mark" he said.

After several days of sailing across the Atlantic Ocean which was undeniably
filled with submarines and enemy vessels of all kinds, the Captain spotted
an enemy destroyer off his forward bow.

Nervously he grasped the handset and called for assistance.

The calm voice replied, "Keep on straight, Do not detour, just sail the ship
straight ahead. Everything will be just fine. Just keep on going - straight
ahead."

After a couple more days the ship pulled safely into the great harbor of New
York city.

Shortly after docking the great British battleship "Man-of-War" pulled into
port behind the passenger vessel. The Captain realized that while he did not
see the British battleship, she was there, standing bye. Standing ready to
come to his defense should it prove necessary.

So it is in our lives. God is standing by. We may not always see Him there,
but He is. Waiting. Bidding us onward toward the mark...

Keep your ship on course. Keep on going - straight ahead...

Appreciate What You Have

Today upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with
golden hair. I envied her - she seemed so
gay - and wished I were as fair. When
suddenly she arose to leave, I saw the
cruel braces as she hobbled down the aisle;
a victim of polio was she. But as she passed
-- a smile!
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two straight feet. The world is mine!

And then I stopped to buy some sweets.
The lad who sold them had such charm.
I talked with him. He said to me, "It's nice
to talk with folks like you. You see," he said,
"I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes. The world is mine!

Then walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
It seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word
and then I knew.... He could not hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears. The world is mine!

With feet to take me where I'd go,
with eyes to see the sunset's glow;
with ears to hear what I would know --
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I'm blessed indeed. The world is mine!

Hail! Sacred Heart of Jesus

Hail, Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and strengthening source of eternal
life, infinite treasury of the Divinity, and burning furnace of divine love!
You are my refuge and my sanctuary.

My loving Savior, consume my heart in that burning love with which your own
Heart is inflamed. Pour out upon me those graces which flow from Your love.
Let my heart be so united with Yours that our wills may be one, and my will
may in all things be conformed with Your Will. May Your Will be the guide
and rule of my desires and of my actions. Amen.
