Any other moms feeling the dread of your child graduating? Oh, you're happy they've made it this far, and that this is just how life should be. Getting them thru school, ready for their next chapter of life, etc.
But the sadness that can only be compared to getting them ready for their first day of school or daycare when from that point on, they're never "just your baby" again.
And you'd think I'd be OK this time around, since I've done it before with my oldest. But that was a whole lifetime ago - 16 yrs - and my dh was still very much alive and well, and the boy who's graduating this May had just turned 3 yrs old, and we were still trying hot and heavy to have more babies, had just moved into our dream home, etc.
A lifetime ago.
I love all my boys, don't get me wrong. But this one, somehow, is harder to let go of now. Maybe it's where I am now. Not an empty nester, as I still have my 12 y/o home.
I don't 'get' my own feelings.
