Their mission is their choice and I'm sure it's laudable, but I'll now know that if I ever decide to try them out, unlikely though that is, I'll avoid the lunch hour. Nothing wrong with a display of patriotism, but it should be a matter of individual choice, which would not, for me, be when I'm dining out.

And you wouldn't want to be in my car at noon, cause when the anthem plays i am singing.  BTW the BBQ is pretty good but my fave is the salmon.  Yummy.

We have several here in Maryland. We've been going to them for a long time - usually takeout. Great bbq and yes - their mission is to support first responders and the military. They donate quite a bit from what I've read. Tons of military insignia and signs around each location.  On the rare occasion we go for lunch - yes we know the national anthem is always played at noon and all work and eating stops and everyone stands for a brief time to pay respect. We like that. It doesn't take long at all.

@Mj12   I think the company was founded in Glen Burnie (sp).

They have donated over 10million so far to various local and national organizations for military and first responders.

I would have no problem hearing the anthem played at noon nor people standing (which I would do).  I have never been in one and I don't think there is one in my neck of the woods.

Anybody who would be offended is just being offended for the sake of being offended.

Don't eat there, then.

There is one near us.  We've gone a few times.  The BBQ is pretty good.

I didn't know the anthem was played every day at noon.  Why would anyone have a problem with that?

This business has made generous donations to Warrior Canine Connection, a non-profit that I also support.  This organization trains service dogs that are provided free of charge to veterans with physical and/or emotional challenges and their families.  I have never patronized one of their restaurants since there is not one in my area, but I appreciate their efforts.

We have one near us.  I have eaten there.  The whole restaurant is decorated with pictures of local rescue units, police and fire departments and military.

I have never heard the national anthem played while I was there, but if I did, it wouldn't bother me. This restaurant gives back to the community.

My Husband and my son's picture along with there police department badges are displayed in there.

The food is pretty good standard fare BBQ meat served with four BBQ sauces placed on the table. The prices are reasonable.

Re: Mission BBQ

[ Edited ]

We don't have them where I live.  The Star Spangled Banner on the PA system would surprise diners, it's not what anyone would expect in a restaurant but I don't believe  many people in this arae would pop up and join in.  Since it's a restaurant and not an assembly or sports event.

I don't see anything on their website that they play the anthem at noon.  Unless you've been there at noon, you wouldn't necessarily know they play it either.

I recall seeing a sign on the front door, something to the effect of "join us at noon for our national anthem." That was in one of their Annapolis restaurants, it may not be at every location.
