QUINCY, Mass. —
Several new pieces of evidence were revealed Wednesday morning when Brian Walshe appeared in court to face new charges, including murder, in connection with the death of his wife, Ana Walshe. Prosecutors say the evidence shows that the Cohasset mother was dismembered by her husband.
At the start of Wednesday's hearing, Brian Walshe's attorney said they wouldn't contest a revocation of bail or the existence of probable cause but the judge asked the prosecution to provide that information anyway.
Norfolk Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland told the judge about several pieces of evidence that officials had previously not disclosed to the public.
That included a lengthy list of internet searches and precisely when each was entered, starting in the early morning hours of Jan. 1, the day Ana Walshe was last seen alive.
Searches included:
Beland also revealed that investigators had obtained several new pieces of video evidence from the hours and days after Ana Walshe was allegedly killed. Some of the video included Brian Walshe straining to place large trash bags into dumpsters and the purchase of three rugs at a Home Goods store in Norwell.
That's in addition to the video evidence of a large purchase of cleaning supplies that was previously revealed in court.
Beland said that the bags put into those dumpsters at apartment complexes in Abington and Brockton were incinerated before investigators could recover them.
However, items he allegedly placed in dumpsters on the North Shore were recovered at a transfer station in Peabody. Beland said that investigators recovered 10 bags there and many of the items inside were stained with blood.
Other discoveries included Ana Walshe's COVID-19 vaccination card, a necklace matching one she was known to wear, a hacksaw and a hatchet.
DNA testing identified Brian and Ana Walshe as contributing DNA to many of the items. Beland said "tissues" with Ana Walshe's DNA were also found.
"It is believed that Brian Walshe dismembered Ana Walshe and discarded her body," Beland said.
"It sounds like this is about as strong a case as the government can get without having a body," attorney Ben Megrian, a legal analyst and former prosecutor, told NewsCenter 5.

On Dec. 27, 2022, Walshe is also said to have searched, “Best day for a divorce?”
During the course of their investigation, officers observed Brian Walshe’s Volvo with the seats down and a plastic liner over them. The car was later found to have traces of blood, officials said.

What makes a person even thinking of doing this, don't they know , they will get caught? What a devil he is.

What is so upsetting this tragedy is that Ana's body has more than likely been incinerated and so there is no closure for her kids, mother and sister.
What an evil calculating brain to purposely dump her body in garbage containers knowing that they were going to the incinerators.

He is a piece of ****** and evil.
Whatever happened to a divorce? Who jumps to the decision to just murder and dismember another human being.
Lastly, he is also an idiot. Does he not watch any crime shows?

He could not have made a stronger case against him if he had tried. Pure evil. He even used his little boy's iPad to do his searches...guess he figured they wouldn't look at it. I do hope the boys get to stay together as they now have no one....my heart goes out to them and to Ana's mother in Serbia. How her heart must be truly broken. That animal pleaded not guilty today. The way he did away with his wife should eleiminate any chance of avoiding in life in prison...I don't think MA has the death penalty...he is the perfect reason to have it.

No death penalty in MA.

I read, somewhere, that he had threatened to kill her before they were even married. If only she had left him at that point. 😢
