Missing my son on this birthday that would have been his 53rd, but, he is forever 27.

My life turned upside down the day he left us and nothing seems right, even after all these years that have come and gone. It's just so "not right" to bury your child. All the "what ifs" haunt me - what would he be doing today, would he have had children?

If you have ever lost a child, you know that empty feeling I am talking about.

@Sapphiregal My sympathies and prayers are with you. there are no words to make it better but I pray that you will work through the anniversary reflecting and remembering the good. Bless your broken heart, I wish I knew what words would help you through today.

So very sorry.  I lost my husband last yoar - totally unexpected.  I konw I can never forget and the pain is something I will feel for the rest of my days.

@Sapphiregal.  M6 sympathies to you.  I understand.  This coming Tuesday, the 10th, will be the anniversary of my son's  death.  He will be forever 37, and did leave two sons who are pretty much strangers to me.  The hole in my heart will never heal but I try not to dwell on anniversaries.

I've never had children, but my sister lost her only child to cancer many years ago. I'm sorry for all of you that's had to go thru the loss of a child.

I know a similar pain losing my parents at a young age.
