I thought Muslim countries didn't allow women to show so much skin????
Was that a myth???
not all predominantly moslem countries in the middle east or elsewhere require you to be ""covered up."".
I guess my irony was too subtle...

Isn't Miss Universe broadcast live? How the heck is Miss Lebanon going to compete if it's illegal for her to be seen with another contestant and she has no control over the cameras
IMO throw her out of the competition.

It sure shines the light of anti semitism on Miss Lebanon and the hatred in that part of the world for any Israeli.

Since Matalon, 21, posted the picture, Lebanese citizens have called for her title to be revoked, according to the New York Post.

sunshine - Thank you for this very relevant additional information. It certainly puts her reasons into perspective.
As far as the picture, if it happened as Ms. Lebanon described, then I think Ms. Israel was out of line. She shouldn't have interrupted or inserted herself into that picture even under normal circumstances. And, this isn't a normal circumstance.

Voluntarily being in a still photo is not the same thing as being filmed as part of a pageant with all the other contestants.
Clearly, her country doesn't have a problem with her being among all the contestants during the pageant. That's not the same as a still photo situation.

Yes, she must be speaking out about it being a photobomb and not a voluntary pose because she doesn't want to lose her crown.

If this were true none of this would be news.
