I do hope that reports of her getting to keep the scholarship money are correct. She did lose more than the money, however. She resigned from an internship and something else after winning; she is not sure she will be able to get them back. She also loses out on other opportunities for earnings via the pageant.

Their mistake and she should be compensated for it. Her age was verified many times over and she was told it wasn't a problem. I think it's someone's interpretation of the age rule that is in question-

She should have known the requirements for Miss America if she won. They owe her nothing.

She was repeatedly assured by pageant officials that her age was not a problem. She doesn't turn 25 until after the Miss America contest is over. Now someone has decided her age is a problem.

They knew her age when she signed up. She shouldn't have to suffer because of someones goof.
