You are entitled to our outdated, old fashioned, judgemental point of view. You don't know the couple personally, so I don't understand the emotion. Like it or not, marriage is dying out as institution. It has no value in this society, it offers no protection to anyone and the old timey concept of "illegitimacy" died about 40 years ago. I think couples will continue to marry but in smaller numbers and their reason for marriage is sentimental. It's about making a statement about their commitment to each other. But since any marriage can be terminated quicker and cheaper than you can plan a wedding....marriage just holds sentimental value now. And that's not important to some people. Their commitment is in their hearts and to each other. They don't need a piece of paper, a poofy white dress and a party. I'm with you. I remember Mila in that Black Swan movie and Kutcher from Two And Half Men. And that's it. But I know they are each wealthy in their own right and I know that being married doesn't automatically make anyone a good parent. Being married doesn't bestow happiness and good fortune on anyone. It's not the piece of paper, it's the love and commitment that make a strong union and and strong family.

It's probably better that these celebs don't marry. Very few of their relationships last.

No way would I voluntarily choose single motherhood. And, it's not usually best for kids either. Calling yourself "engaged" does not mean married.
Statistically, having a 2 parent family is a huge boost to success for the children. Just common sense should tell us this.
I do not respect this trend of so many pregnancies without marriage. And that is my VIEWPOINT.
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Thankfully, our society is not so moralistic that a woman cannot have a child if she is single. Back in the 50's women were scorned that had children out of wedlock and they had to resort to giving up their baby for adoption.....all because of some backward minds who point the finger at women who got pregnant. Lives were destroyed for some of those women..
I, for one, don't want to go back to a time where women were forced to give their babies away to pacify the moral police.....

I think that EVERY couple should know each other as well as possible before taking on marriage ....
it is very challenging and NOTHING in single life is as bad as a bad marriage.
