The rape culture comment was unnecessary.
I would instruct my child to politely say no to anyone she did not want to dance with.
I would not deny my child the right to attend the dances.
If the principal insisted she had to or go home I would tell my child to call me.
I would get to that dance and stand and watch and send a message to the principal my child has the right to say no.
It is a school dance and nothing more or less. The policy is ridiculous. What has happened to innocence and just being a kid and going to a dance. It is an event for children to socialize. Yes, people will be rejected and others may not even have the chance to feel that because they were not asked. It is a learning experience. It is socializing and kids must learn about such things through experience.This policy wants to control behavior that kids need to learn.
Too much control when none is needed. Too little control when it is needed. Politically or socially correct is out of hand and natural behavior is being lost.
