Heating/reheating mostly.
Before I learned how to make bacon in the oven, I would do the thin kind in the microwave. It took quite a few paper towels, meaning lots of waste. I used to use it for potatoes too, but I don't make potatoes anymore. I could never consider ruining a piece of meat by "cooking" it in the microwave. Even warming leftover already cooked meat takes some finesse so it doesn't get ruined.
These days I use the microwave to make/cook 90 sec. mug bread

All potatoes are microwavable. You don't need to buy specially wrapped and labled potatoes.
@CelticCrafter I realize that!
It's just that I don't have to punch holes in the potatoes & it only takes 5-6 minutes to cook.
My microwave is older than dirt. It's huge & only 950w. I'm also lazy by nature.

I use the microwave for both heating and cooking, including almost all vegetables cooked in the microwave. I find that they taste fresher than cooking them on the stove or roasting in the oven (which I don't like at all). Potatoes are about the only vegetable that get baked in the oven. I cook acorn squash, spaghetti squash, sweet corn, carrots, asparagus, etc in the microwave. Also instant oatmeal, grits and cream of wheat.
I also use the microwave to sort of pre-cook frozen desserts or pot pies, and then complete the baking in the oven. It just saves time. I have a very small air fryer, so that's not a very good option for cooking veggies.

I don't do a lot of cooking these days, as little as possible. However, I was the first person I know to have a microwave almost 50 years ago and during that time, I've done some serious cooking and lots of experimentation in one. If something doesn't require browning, I'll cook it in the micro. My favorite appliance was a combo convection/microwave which has bitten the dust. Loved that thing.

@mormel20 Pretty much the same as you except that I also cook my bacon in the microwave.

I have a MW steamer basket for fresh veggies and use it almost daily, plus my MW omelet maker comes in handy for quick breakfasts. Other than that, it's mostly reheating, or preparing a frozen TV dinner, or snack e.g., popcorn. I use my MW a lot. Be lost without it.

Both - heating and cooking - but more heating than cooking.
