That's funny because my favorite restaurant is about eight hours away from home.  I get $1500 in gift cards to it every year on Black Friday (buy one get one half price).

We're actually driving there today for dinner, but we're only about 2 hours away.  It's close to my sisters and we'll be spending the night there and then heading home... I wish I could take the chefs with me.

It's close to QVC Land, and it's unbelieavable the many many restaurants in the area that have really good choices for dining.

Hopefully the drenching rains will be over in an hour or two and we'll be able to eat outside!

OMG! One of the best meals I ever ate. Many, many years ago my family visited Michie Tavern. I was there twice and still recall what delicious food they had. The fried chicken was the best ever!

@Lucky Charm

What is the restaurant to which you are referring?  We are in the West Chester/Wilmington area quite often and would appreciate dining suggestions.

Good morning!  Had to drive from the Jersey shore to PHL Int'l to pick up husband, flight was late, visited cousins in Queens Village, but was sitting down for our 8 p.m. reservations with my sister and her family.

I eat vegan and they just cater the most delicious meals and then I always walk down to Whole Foods and get a cupcake or a chocolate chip cookie (okay I bought a few).

But there used to be so many nice restaurants in that area, Dilworthtown Inn, The Blue Pear, Concordville Inn,  Landenberg Inn, The Country House, even Concord Country Club and Penn Oaks had nice offerings.

Not sure if they're all still there or open, we moved decades ago.

Harvest Grill is relatively new, it's not in one of those *George Washington Slept Here* places like most of the other's mentioned...as I call them.

What a historic area though and very pretty.  I have family all over the area from Philly to Chadds Ford, West Chester, Media, Marple Newtown. Kennett Square.  Lots of cousins!
