Does anyone remember this guy, convicted in 2003 for pushing is wife Kathleen down the stairs to her death. There was a movie for tv movie on him. He is an author and ran for a couple local offices I want to say in Massachusettes.
He is a free man today, judge overturned his conviction due to the false testimony of the blood spatter investigator. Appareantly he has faked or stretched testimony in 34 cases, the whole office of blood spatter, not sure the official name of it, was closed down in So. Carolina and investigated leading to him being fired. One guy did 17 yrs. and walked free. The investigators name was something Devers.
So M Peterson was basically found guilty on the blood spatter evidence (I watched the trial on CTV, the blood was all over the stairwell of their home) and now the whole blood would be tainted so it is more then likely he will not be retried. The coroner said that the amount of trauma was more the like massive blunt force trauma, like a beating, but since the blood is tainted the DA may not even retry him.
Before you feel sorry for this guy being unjustly convicted, you should know that 18 yrs before Kathleens death, Michaels live in lady in Germany died of a fall down the stairs just like Kathleen did.
I'm sure a few sluethers here remember this case, what do you think?
