Good grief.  It is ONE day out of the shopping channel world--and a lot of people love it.  Don't knock it.  Lots of us dislike the stuff YOU love probably!

It's not because of not getting to watch the Q for a day.  I seldom watch anyway.  It's the rip-off factor that begins today and won't quit until Christmas.  The day after which all evidence that there ever was a holiday will be stripped from West Chester, PA.  I don't like seeing people preyed upon.

I don't mean this as an insult, and it obviously doesn't apply to all, but I think the grandparents and the shut-ins (I know that word is not PC, but I don't mean it to be negative) are the target audience today.

Think "fixed income."  What Tinkrbl44 wrote is nicely put.

And, I don't think  "grandparents" are/were the sole target audience.  You may not celebrate Christmas, but for those of us who do and plan gift giving, Oct, Nov and Dec can be pretty wicked.  What you don't want to do is charge everything during those months on credit cards, carrying that debt into the new year.  Purchasing mid-year on easy-pay makes sense for a lot of folks.

You seem to have a lot of angst about this.  Maybe less time allowing the Q to be a part of your life and turn to reading a great book or taking a walk would be a better alternative.

Re: Merry Christmas!! NOT!!!

I love Christmas in July shows!  So there is something for everyone sooner or later.  I don't like the all-day beauty shows or the tech shows, but since I don't like them.....I just don't watch!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Merry Christmas!! NOT!!!

I like the day Smiley Happy

I like getting ideas and once in awhile I'll order something for Christmas.  Last year I bought a couple of the sets of holiday bags.  Really a nice quality and so easy to use.

I don't watch the Q that often on TV, but I go through the online lists of what's offered.

Who said I don't celebrate Christmas?

And why are you being obnoxious?  The "read a book", "take a walk" line is getting old; you need some imagination and some new material.  Perhaps you should take your own advice.

Crass commercialism and totally disgusting. Haven't even had Q on today and don't intend to later.

I hate it, after having such a cold  and snowy winter I just want to enjoy summer. Right now it won't stop raining.

Re: Merry Christmas!! NOT!!!

It's way too early for me to even think about.  That said, for those who enjoy getting a jump start, enjoy the day :-)

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
