What's it called when you take a group of people and assign them all the same negative traits?  Could it be prejudice?

FYI:

Someone has outscored Stephen Hawking and Einstein...

A British girl, Neha Ramu, I think she's 15 now.  Her IQ was discovered at age 12.  She's at 162.  They've found other young people recently with even higher IQs.

Seems odd this is even an event...snooze fest.

It's like an annual gathering of 'Blue Eyes' or 'AB+Blood Type'...there's no connection to these people other than DNA.

I've gone several times to a 3-day Spinning (indoor cycling) event in Miami. My friends think I'm nuts, but that's a passion I enjoy. For 3 days, I'm connected to 500 people with the same passion. Same could be said for any activity....a conference for people playing, say, Chess, Knitting, Lovers of Mystery Novels, Vegan Cooking...life is too short to waste hoping you'll connect with a stranger just because you have, oh, Size 9 feet.

And yes, I agree w/ many posters...it IS odd to come to a TV shopping chat board to ask this question. Granted, we have a large diversity of posters...couple actually provided an answer to the OP...but no, I wouldn't come on this board asking 'have you been?'

If anything, I would go to Reddit to ask, join a Mensa-specific organizational group or even a specific Facebook group to ask that question. I guess it just makes sense to go that route, yes?

Here? We're proficient talking about 'Pantyhose vs bare legs', 'Do you wash your feet?' & Kim Kardashian's butt. Smiley Tongue

I don't think it is odd at all to ask that question. In fact I think you are doing a disservice to the participants here to think that no one would be able to answer Marp's question. There are many people who post here who may be familiar with Mensa.

I don't think it is any more odd than your frequent posts on Dr. McDougall or the potato diet. Just making conversation and an improvement on the Kim K threads and Pantyhose vs bare legs.

AGREE!!!!

@Noel7

I was thinking the same thing!

That particular poster loves to follow me around.

Around 2 weeks ago, that poster resurfaced an old thread I responded to...so I responded by posted a pic with Carrie Bradshaw saying to Mr. Big: "Admit it: You drive around looking for me!".  I giggled...so apropos.  It was around that time, 'Kallie' appeared.

I've never been 'stalked' before on this forum, but if this poster reposts my message, I look at it as a positive....people get to read my viewpoints over & over.

#NoSuchThingAsBadPress

I hope you are referring to someone else because what I said was in defense of Marp after you claimed it was an odd place to ask the question regarding Mensa.

As far as your posts....they are interesting and what I posted was not intended to insult you in anyway. I was basically posting that I enjoyed different topics.

Hope that better clarifies.

I don't know anyone who is that smart and that is probably because most people are not that brilliant. Being brilliant is a gift and if used properly is a wonderful experience for all involved. I think people who are interested in Mensa are just looking for someone like themselves, so I think if that's what you are looking for, go for it.

based on the fact that I often get confused on these long threads and can't even tell who is insulting whom and who is agreeing with whom., it would be safe to say I wouldn;t be on the invite list.

In fact, at times lots of it goes right over my head.

I just like conversation that is straightforward and has no snark pretending to be compliments i.e. I thought one of these posts was insulting sidsmom for her post which seemed kinda snarky to me but then she expressed a thank you and polite conversation ensued.   #Don'tGetThat

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.
