Re: Men Disguised As Amazon Workers

So sorry that this happened.

But there's need to answer the door since Amazon drivers just leave the delivery.

You can also track your order online, and will receive an email from Amazon once it's been delivered.

@Carmie

You are 100% right!  I totally forgot about such things.  When the world turned upside down (not) on Jan 1, 2000, we did have a good amt of cash on hand and a 2 week supply of emergency food that was supposed to be good for 2 years.  That two years is up.  I guess we better start eating it lol.

Thanks for sharing the story about your dad and all his stashes of money Smiley Happy

I wait until the delivery person leaves to open my door unless it's my regular UPS or USPS person.

THANK YOU for sharing this. I never would have thought of this scenario. In this case I would have opened the door, seeing they were wearing a company vest. I now  know better!

Re: Men Disguised As Amazon Workers

Small business owners often bring their cash home with them at the end of the day. They often feel it's safer than using the night deposit slots at the banks or leaving it in the store. They'll bring it home, count it, organize it, and sort what they want to go to the bank and what they want to go back to the store/business to have cash on hand to make change or whatnot. They'll then drop off what they want in the bank on their way to work the next day. Thieves know that and often target them at home.

@Skyegirl21 Neither do I and I don't care if they can hear the television or see me sitting in the living room.

Do people actually keep cash on hand anymore?  Debit cards have surely cut down on accessible cash these days.  If anyone broke into my house for cash, they'd be wasting their time.  I have some change in my purse.  They would probably get angry and shoot me for not having any cash Smiley Surprised

@monicakm We don't have debit cards.

I never open my door unless I recognize the car and if no car still do not open.
