Re: Memorial May at the Bird's Nest

Hi everyone! A big hello to Puddles. Come on back you hear?

It is quite cool this morning - what a difference from the past week. I understand, however, the drop in temps will only last a few short days. Even though it is cool now will just have to wait and see what it will actually be like by late morning - could zip way back up there. No sign of the sun which is a surprise. Lot of it is the smoke from the fires - the nasty air will linger for some time to come. Sure got hot in my house yesterday about 4:30 - managed to do without the cooler until then and could not stand it any longer. Stayed warm but my room was pleasant. Had no ac on in there and the open window was the lifesaver.

Those birds have emptied all the feeders again. Put water back in the bird bath yesterday morning and I kept checking it periodically and it stayed clean the entire day. Haven't gone out and checked this morning yet so will keep my fingers crossed. Noticed my brand new 4 cup hummer feeder is leaking - it is so weird as every single feeder I hang in that particular area always leaks. I first thought the hummers were just drinking it all - yeah sure, but that is not the case. Darn it anyway as those things cost a fortune these days - will see if I can figure out a way to stop the drip. Oh well.

Busy day - picking up a friend and we are going to Olins Church in Beaumont. She has to return some dog food so will stop at WM after church which is very near that church and then head back home - no eating out for lunch as I am going to the potluck at Miss Mary's mobile home park at 3. Next Sunday I think I will go back to Wildwood Cavalry Chapel - I really enjoyed it. Sure wish I could have found a place I was comfortable with closer to my home. Oh well, such is life. Will probably go to Wildwood most of the time and then to Olin's perhaps once a month or so. Reason being is that the services at Olin's are now 8:30 and 10:30 and neither time works really well for me. Wildwood's service I would go to is at 9:45 - much better for me. Olin is preaching today. The WM in Beaumont is great - I just do not like WMs and never have but that is not the case for this one. It is huge and they have lighting, cooling, etc all done environmentally. I first noticed the lighting - you can see it decrease or increase yet it is always just fine inside the store - same with the cooling especially - amazing to me. ANd a biggie is the aisles are NEVER cluttered. WOW! What a concept.

Have a great day everyone - I may fill the feeders today - not real sure - but at least will think about it.

Re: Memorial May at the Bird's Nest

Good Morning Birding Friends ~ I am enjoying an extended weekend today. I originally asked for the day off last week when the weather forecast was rain, rain, rain. I expected to not be able to cut the grass until today. I lucked out and did it yesterday, so today I am puttering around and will work on fixing my outside faucet/spigot, what ever you call it LOL.

My Presto is sitting on my right forearm as I type the bird of the day - Reddish Egret

This bird looks kind of crabby to me

Re: Memorial May at the Bird's Nest

OK, so Stripes has his old Grandma worried sick again. Haven't seen him since about noon yesterday. Have also learned he does NOT like it when I am gone in long stretches - have been doing that for three days now. Here for a spell and then gone for hours - he does not like it. I hope he will show up sometime later and I can get him in. He also does not like the extra people/critters here but he does tolerate them.

Quite chilly this morning but it is not so bad now - sun is out but the bad thing is we did not get any rain.

Turned the TV on for a few seconds and checked the Dr Phil show - CANNOT stand most all his shows now. I think he has turned into a Jerry Springer type person - he gets involved in trashy things. When he first started on TV I really thought he was doing good things for people. Understand he has not renewed his pcychs. license in quite a few years - well I can understand that. Pure trash now and quite frankly some of his shows should have been raided. LOL.

I think I am once again trying to come down with something - am so tired of getting sick every couple months. Use to complain when I came down with something twice a year - I forgot how good I had it then. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Hope all had a great day! Forgot to mention I filled all the feeders yesterday - the feathered ones have had a ball. Needless to say almost all are empty now - they will just have to wait a spell. Again, hope your day was a good one.

Re: Memorial May at the Bird's Nest

.

Hi Birding Friends, I hope you are having a nice Wednesday. Hot and muggy here.

Puddles, I am still fighting with my beastly computer. For the life of me I don't understand what could be keeping the keyboards from working. Now and then I green light will show up on it, as if it's working, but so far no luck.{#emotions_dlg.bored}

My banana plants, 20 of them are planted. YEA! The amaryllises are also in their spot for the summer. Still have a lot of flowers to plant before I leave next Tuesday. Wish I had more time at home.

Winifred, take good care of yourself so you don't get sick. It seems the older I get, the more frequent sinus upsets come knocking. Pollen has been really bad. It's as if the plant are celebrating their surviving the severe winter we had by over doing the blooming, leafing, and now, the pollen 'machine'.

Uh oh, I accidentally hit submit tab, and now am 'editing' this post.

Will close for now. Winifred, I hope that bad boy Stripes gets himself home soon!
