Re: Memorable Valentine Gift(s) You Have Received

Last year my husband gave me the usual card, candy and a balloon. (Have since told him not to bother with the balloon but I in a nice way.)

Anyway, then he gave me a ruby and diamond ring made by our local goldsmith.  I was shocked to say the least!  I actually teased him that he must've done something really bad and needed to make up for it!

I told him I need nothing this year.  Getting me that ring out of the blue made me so happy and I'm good for a long time now.  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Memorable Valentine Gift(s) You Have Received

Some time around Valentines Day, back in the olden days, a male friend who had a secret crush on me gave me a mix tape with a song he wrote and recorded--all about me.

I was flattered beyond belief, but I wasn't attracted to him that way. Our friendship survived, but it was never as close again because I didn't want to lead him on.

@MalteseMomma, What a beautiful picture of two young people in love.  I am very sorry you lost him so many years ago.  But I am happy that you have such a large family to love, and I am sure they love you back so very much.

Re: Memorable Valentine Gift(s) You Have Received

DH has bought me the same exact Valentines card three different times in recent years. He just sees it over and over again and thinks it's perfect for me. One year he gave me that exact same card again but in the Happy Birthday version. At least it's a cool card! I kinda love it now.

I got the best early Valentine's gift ever! A few days before I gave birth a beautiful baby girl!  The gift that has kept on giving.

@Pearlee

When I was in high school, my dad gave me a beautiful white gold ring with a heart shaped amethyst. It was and is very special to me.

Pearley, that is so funny.  It wasn't V-Day, but I remember baking cookies one day and decided to have one.  I ended up eating all of them and had to bake another batch, since I had already told my husband I would be baking cookies that day.

Probably the best Valentine gift I got was one year, my dog was very sick.  We found out on V-Day that she would be OK.  That was the best gift I could have received.

Re: Memorable Valentine Gift(s) You Have Received

These are nice stories!   My most memorable is about 20 years ago we went to Cape Cod for a weekend getaway for Valentines day.  We took a drive out to Provincetown and went for a long walk at Race Point beach.   We sat on a big piece of driftwood and just gazed at the ocean.  Beautiful sunny day for February and all of a sudden my hubby handed me a pretty little box.  Inside was a gorgeous 5 ct Kunzite ring set in 14 k gold.

What a treasure, him and the ring Smiley Happy

When I was a child, my Mother always gave us a valentines gift....but as an adult never.

I have one that sticks out on my mind, and not in a good way.

I was dating a man in the early 1980s who brought me a huge heart-shaped box of chocolates.  That night, after he left, I dove into that box and ate a lot of them.  We had plans for the next evening also, so I went out and bought a new identical box of the chocolates so he wouldn't know how many I'd eaten the night before! ☺

@Pearlee Too funny!  I have to admit that I've done that too...just not a Valentine but other times.  Yes I've purchased replacement goodies to make it look like I either didn't eat any (when I really ate the whole thing!) or just a little. Smiley Happy

Last year DH surprised me with a cute heart charm engraved with our names & date that he picked up on Etsy to go on my Pandora bracelet.
