Everyone is confused because no one wants to say the obvious... This leads to rumors and false statements.

I read earlier where the Doctors were slowly taking her off of life support to see what was going on, so I guess we really don't know what is going on!

You don't just stop a medically induced coma - it is weaned off slowly - then once the person eventually awakens you do not just remove the life support - it too must be weaned off slowly.The process requires a great deal of patience, and a lot of time. I am a retired ICU RN - so I know this - I am not just giving an opinion. You are unlikely to hear any info of any value for a while yet.

NEW YORK (AP) - Joan Rivers' family is confirming that the comedian is on life support after going into cardiac arrest last week during a procedure at a doctor's office.

Her daughter, Melissa Rivers, said in a statement Tuesday that her mother is on life support "at this time." Melissa said the family is extremely grateful for the public support.

Joan Rivers was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan last Thursday. The 81-year-old comic and red carpet commentator has maintained a busy career as host of "Fashion Police" on the E! network and co-star of the WEtv reality show, "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?"

Melissa Rivers said Tuesday that she knows her mother would be overwhelmed by the continuing outpouring of kindness.

They said they were going to try to take her out of the medically induced coma today. Perhaps they tried that and it did not work. Therefore, the update from Melissa that she is still on life support.

IMO, they must have some hope or they would have given up by now.

HH is correct, nothing has changed as far as has been reported. Bringing someone out of a medically induced coma isn't instantaneous, it's done slowly.

All of these reports about her being in a medically induced coma came through "unnamed sources". NONE OF IT VERIFIED!! Just goes to,show what happens when you believe "unnamed sources,
