It does worry me about Maddow.  It's been a couple of weeks by now, I think.

The fact that they have said NOTHING at all worries me.  Usually there's some mention of the flu or whatever.

Like her or not, she is a brilliant woman with an extraordinary education.

I've watched Ms. Kelly since day one and thought, hmmmm there might be something there.  She blossomed forward with confidence and lawyer based enthusiasm.  I enjoyed watching that.  Then her ego started preceeding her as well as her tightly held opinions as they began to be noticed.  This I didn't enjoy as it (and it would) seemed to interfere with her interviews/questions, and should not be part of an impartial news journalist...(but hey, they're all doing it, right?  Even tho they were all taught not to in Journalism 101)  then the jump from FOX News....

We'll see how this goes.  I'm not sure the Network that paid all that money for her to jump ship will be getting their money's worth.... enough to take down 60 Minutes? I really, really don't think so......

Wow, tied with Tucker, that is impressive.  Will have to tune in to see her show.

@deepwaterdotter

Better than that:

"MSNBC host Rachel Maddow gained the most from O’Reilly’s departure... Maddow won the 9 p.m. hour in total viewers over CNN and Fox News for the first time in 20 years."

Same source as above.

Correct, Noel.  She's beating everyone in her time slot. I think that includes the Tucker guy.

I couldn't be happier. I've watched her for years and I firmly  feel she is the best across the board. Bar none. Her research is flawless.  Her presentations are witty and smart. She doesn't have to resort to the high hemlines, cleavage and shiny legs of those "other"women.

Hi @Ms tyrion2

I agree... IMO her research is mind-bogglingly thorough.  And she explains it step by step.

This whole myth of Fox women wearing revealing clothes is just sour grapes. Fox is tops in cablenews. Tucker and MSNBC  Rachael Maddow are tied at the top then a bunch of Fox until finally Wolf comes on the list.

@deepwaterdotter fyi, it may be a bit before Rachel returns to the air as she has been off sick for over a week.  I just checked her Twitter feed and there is nothing so it seems like she will be off a few more days at least.

Who has been filling in for Rachael?

Rachel was pretty sick!  She worked that one day and then has been out since.  She is a brilliant person, well educated, and a very good journalist.

That's one thing I really appreciate there.  They are into facts and real stories.

I like some on CNN, including Anderson and Jake Tapper.  At least they also try to keep it with facts and, like MSNBC, having people of all POVs on and letting them speak.

I tried watching FN a couple of times and not only were all the lies and made up stories difficult to swallow but any time they had somebody with a POV aside from the one, extreme, one that is sanctioned there, they would scream over the person. If the person kept trying to get their turn, they finally just turned off their mic.  That's just messed up.

Who knows - with all the changes, maybe they are trying to clean the place up.    What bothers me the most is that there are a lot of people out there who believe the lies.  It's a shame they are allowed to do that, but I recall when they won a couple of lawsuits that said they can tell lies, legally.    I can see that to a point, as far as  free speech goes, but maybe they shouldn't be able to call themselves a 'news' channel, then.

My DIL watched on the east coast. And to borrow a quote it was a big ole " nothing burger" I knew it was a bust because if there was something it would have been leaked and shouted from the roof tops. See how it goes next week. 60 minutes will be hard to beat.

And football this Fall.  She used to be good before she made the news all about her and what she was wearing.  I can't stand how she yells.
