Yes, you summed it up fairly well....this isn't my 'confirmation'--almost a direct quote from her family who would know her better than Q posters who sat her on a pedestal, but who really cares. Do you think people in the UK are idolizing our Hollywood idols--'no' is the answer.

@When the Queen titled MM, Duchess of Sussex, I just chuckled. I asked myself, why would she give her a title so difficult and comical to say, it's quite a mouthful. My feeling was that it was the Queen's subtle way of expressing that she didn't care for her. I mean, she could have given her a title that sounded regal, coming off the tongue.I'm looking forward to seeing the baby too.
At the time it was reported that of the available Earldoms, Harry was partial to Sussex and that is why the Queen chose it for him.
If Harry is now the Duke of Sussex then it isnt an earldom, but a dukedom... Just sayin'...
Personally, I would have thought an earldom would have been more appropriate, given his placement in the pecking order... but QE2 didn't ask my advice...
@stevieb I misspoke. Dukedom is what I meant.
@faeriemoon I was sure it was... Just didn't want you to think I was being a smartazz... That wasn't my intent...
No worries, @stevieb . I was writing about Harry but was thinking about Edward because he too made a request. He specifically asked to be the Earl of Wessex, and that's why I had Earldom on my brain.
@faeriemoon I think I read that about Edward... I also read that at the time of his marriage the titles under consideration for him were the Dukedoms of Cambridge and Sussex... Of course, that was well before these titles were conferred upon the current holders... Related, apparently the queen has said that when the title Duke of Edinburgh 'returns to the crown', Edward will be created as the next one. Of course, Phillip has to pass on before that will happen and one assumes it would then be up to the queen or whoever is monarch at the time.

I'm not exhausted. Speak for yourself, not for others. You cannot stifle anyone's opinion. I've got plenty more adjectives that suit her perfectly, but I'm not allowed to post those words here. Eta- @50Mickey
I rest my case.

Not true @occasionalrain, two of my children had three baby showers a piece and I was invited to one both times, the big ones. The two smaller ones were held by work and close friends! don't make something out of her Mom not being there.

@stevieb Actually, for some reason, I think both the Queen and the Duke have to be deceased before that happens. I read that too, and I think that's what the article said. I could be wrong though.

Nope. No more exhausted than folks consistently reveling in her beauty (both inside and out...), her glow, her fashion sense (such as it is...), her adoration for him (and his for her), her social concerns, her stunning looks, (which I fail to see... she's attractive, nothing more and nothing less), her, essentially, being the second coming of The Madonna... And on and on and on... There's at least a bit of hyperbole from both those who like her (or them) and those who don't particularly care for her (or them)... As for the late sprouting maternal gene, that was me, and I'll stand by it... She was childless for 37 years and her pregnancy was announced within just a few months of the wedding. Most newlyweds tend to seek a little together time before the kids come, but the clock was ticking and that deal needed to be sealed...

@faeriemoon No. I think you're right. I think I read that Charles will have ascended to the throne, which, I guess, would mean it would be up to him.

@faeriemoon I think I also read that Edward liked the title based on having seen the movie Shakespeare in Love... I mean really... Too funny... ![]()

@occasionalrain Especially when it's your only child, a daughter, and first grandchild. The new grandmother-to-be is always the guest of honor. Either Mom wanted no part of it or MM didn't think she'd fit in (wasn't good enough) for a 500k shower..
You two are hilarious. LOL
